…soon enough, 4:30 rolls around and he's still in his sweats calling an Uber. He could be fashionably late.
It's Eliott. He could not show up and still that would be okay. Yes.
Yet he stands on the sidewalk, fiddling with his phone and waiting for his ride. Holding his breath and thinking about that time he helped Yann draw all the tiny penises on the practice footballs with brown sharpie so it would blend enough that no one would notice till it was too late.
Sophomore year was wild.
He keeps that thought with him all through the ride. Every twist and turn and bump in the road only serves to reset his thoughts as he refocuses on where he's headed.
When the car stops, Lucas takes a breath and pays his driver even when he thinks the dude just dropped him off in front of the gates of hell.
"I really didn't — just got you to the address you gave me sir."
Lucas nods. Of course he has no control of his mouth.
The young college kid deserves a nice tip. If only to keep him quiet.

Summary
A boy sits at the edge of the bar, holding a beer and sipping it lazily. Steely gray eyes bore into Lucas’ own and, god, Lucas nearly forgets how to breathe because the boy is beautiful. All sharp cheekbones, and wild hair and a subtle smirk at his lips that Lucas desperately wants to kiss off. The feeling hits him with a force that makes it hard to ignore and this is decidedly not what Lucas needs on this trip.

There’s a grocery list from who knows when, a draft for an essay he hopes turned out better than the drivel on the page he’s currently holding, a note from Arthur telling him there’s a party at Alexia’s next Friday. A phone bill. A dusty post-it note with deadlines for assignments. A beer coaster on which somebody scribbled an address. A crunchy Kleenex – Lucas doesn’t straighten that one, but gingerly picks it up between the tip of his thumb and his pointer finger, trying not to gag as he wonders what exactly is caught between the folds as he discards it in the trash can. And a slip of course book paper, clearly torn out in haste, with a childish drawing of a raccoon and a hedgehog and a phone number.

Summary
Lucas bristles. One egg takes forever to clean up. This… this will be messy, and tedious, and he will get raw egg on his clothes and his hands and his skin and the stench will remain with him for the rest of the week. He is about to say some very choice words to the boys who are just standing there, but he bites his tongue and wordlessly puts up the yellow ‘wet floor’ sign.
“Sorry, man, we were being stupid and we – well, we dropped a bunch of them and – uh, yeah. We’ll pay for them, obviously…”
Pay for them? Lucas couldn’t care less. He’d appreciate it if the guy would offer to clean them the fuck up. His tongue is nearly bleeding and he looks up, ready to give the guy some friendly advice to get the fuck away from Lucas if he valued his life – when the words dry up in his mouth.
He is staring right into the face of Eliott Demaury.

Lucas hasn’t ever worked with Demaury before, but he has heard of him, of course. He saw Demaury first in a small role in a modernized staging of Medea. As a professional in the theatre world, he appreciates Demaury’s talent. Eliott Demaury brings emotions to life effortlessly, and has a real connection to the audience. On a less professional note, as a… well, hot-blooded gay man, Lucas appreciates Eliott’s attractive features, slender waist, strong arms, crooked smirk and striking eyes probably even more than his talent.
When Daphné calls for “Eliott Demaury”, Lucas sits up a bit straighter. He is prepared to be blinded by the trademark megawatt smile of his crush. Lucas expects a confident, self-assured man, ready to claim his stake. Instead, in walks a boyish figure, almost hunched, in jeans and sneakers, with messy hair and what looks like paint stains on his hands.
It is hopelessly cute, to be honest.
