Summary
Jean-Heron Vicquemare is working as a kitchen lead in a poorly managed restaurant, dealing with endless late-night closes, incompetent new hires, and equipment malfunctions. But a job is a job, even if most nights find him at the bar trying to drink enough to drown out the sound of phantom tickets printing.
Harry Du Bois has successfully lived down the Beagle Disaster, and is being trusted with a new undercover assignment. The only connection between a string of murders is the victims’ choice of restaurant two nights before their deaths, and with pressure to clear cases before summer hits full swing, he’s sent in. Harry is to get a job as a cook, gain the trust of the staff, and try to gather as much information as he can on any shady business.
