Summary
'A soft breeze on a June night and you? What a perfect setting for letting dreams come true...'
The needle jumped and skipped before the second verse had a chance to begin, replaying the same two lines just as it always did. They had long known it could easily be replaced, that they could visit the little music shop in the village and purchase a new copy - for years they had talked about it, even joked about it. Truthfully though, neither of them ever wanted to. To anyone else, it sounded like the soulful beginning to another of Billie Holiday's hits - but to to them, with all its crackles and stutters, it sounded like the beginning of everything.

Summary
Story 1: An uncomfortably warm summer evening takes a more comfortable turn.
Story 2: This one isn't about an evening, but the morning after a particularly splendid one. Involves a golf, bacon rolls and a 90s Cath Kidston apron.
Story 3: Day one of the FBE at Gatcombe and an evening once it's all over. Involves toasties, cake and a theoretical commemorative teaspoon I'd personally love to own.
Story 4: Perhaps one of the most important evenings of all.
Story 5: This tenuously takes place at the end of an evening, so there is that I suppose.
