He tries to grab at the light, as if he could snatch the sun from the sky and hold it in his palm. When it doesn’t work, he clenches his fingers again, and again, and again.
Against the light, his hand looks warm, and he doesn’t notice the way his fingers shake.
Bottle to his chest. He lifts it up, tilts it back, and lets the fire slide down to the embers in his stomach again. It blows hot air into his head, and when he blinks, he thinks the sun is melting into his palm.
“What’re you doing?”
Or: the world is supposed to end tomorrow, and Mike and Will share a bottle of vodka on the roof of the Wheelers' house

Summary
16 months ago, Cas became human.

Dean looks up from his beer. He hasn’t had that much to drink, but Cas still has a vague look of unreality about him, a splash of living color that doesn’t fit in the bunker’s echoing stillness. Dean didn’t hear him coming. A lot of the time, Cas is so unobtrusive it feels like Dean has the bunker to himself, with Sam away.
