Summary
Toni and Shelby have a somewhat complicated relationship. In their freshman year, they had been quite close since Martha was quick to make friends with the girl from out of state. They soon only spoke on occasion and when Martha was around, as Shelby withdrew herself from their lunch table and began having lunch with her new boyfriend: Andrew along with his friends. What made the bond completely snap in half was when Toni got her first girlfriend, Regan at the start of sophomore year. After Toni & Regan broke up, Toni became angrier than ever and didn’t care if she hurt the feelings of the ‘friendly neighbourhood’ Christian girl.
So when they’re forced to work together for a school project, they are forced to put aside their differences, causing a fresh new dynamic between the two to occur, changing their life’s for good.
