“I’m never getting out of this fucking gas station.” He muttered to himself, staring angrily at the offending tickets in the clear case beneath his hands.
“Um. I-…Could I just, uh, get these M&Ms? Please?”
Reki snapped his head up, heat rushing to his face at the realization that someone was standing directly in front of his till while he was busy lamenting the price of nice microphones. He scrambled to rip one of his earbuds out, simultaneously grabbing the M&Ms from the countertop and fumbling for the scanner. Shifting hurriedly to stand upright and hit all the buttons on register, he cleared his throat and tried to act chill.
“Your total will be 3.95$.”

Summary
When Isagi Yoichi, the centerforward for Japan's national football team, sustains a knee injury during one of the most important matches of his career, he thought everything he worked for was over. Placed on leave by his coaches and doctors and caught in a storm of restlessness, he retreats to the solitary meadows of rural Japan. There, he meets Bachira Meguru, an eccentric yet kind beekeeper who has a knack for annoying his new next door neighbor. In between the sunny afternoons and quiet nights, something in Isagi shifts.
Just as their relationship begins to bloom, the question Isagi had been avoiding for so long reveals itself, uninvited and impossible to ignore. Was healing supposed to bring him back to football, or had healing shown him something worth leaving his career behind for?
Or: Isagi learns the art of beekeeping and falls in love along the way.
