Ganyu's gaze focuses on the fluffy rug she’s sitting on before she speaks. "Perhaps I told my father I was living with someone, and he took it as if I had a girlfriend."
"And what else?"
"Perhaps..." She starts sheepishly playing with the rug’s faux fur, occasionally making little balls of fur with her fingers. "Perhaps I was too endeared by his reaction to tell him we're just friends, so now he insists that I bring you to have dinner with us in a few days, for his birthday." Another pause, and Keqing swears she can see a deep blush decorating Ganyu's face. She really wants to see it. "As my partner."
— A misunderstanding between Ganyu and Zhongli results with Keqing having to pretend to be her girlfriend during Zhongli's birthday. A snowstorm makes it so their stay with Ganyu's family gets prolonged.

The way Keqing said it placed her in a humiliating spot to backtrack the foolish decisions that brought her here.
Ganyu is a thriving, white-collar assistant with pure certainty, but to call herself an embodiment of professionalism can only attain so much when your (incredibly) intimidating boss happens to know her way around being just as charming.
