Trevor grins like he’s amused by Jamie’s one-word answers. Which is good, because the more Jamie looks at this guy, the less he understands why someone as pretty and outgoing as Trevor wants to spend time talking to him.

Summary
It’s nice, talking to Nico and taking note of all his endearing traits and gestures. Like the way his nose scrunches up while he tries to remember the specific details of a story. Or how his dimple pops out extra bright whenever he talks about his family back home in Switzerland, or playing street hockey when the weather gets cold.
And suddenly there’s that damn straw again, the end of it trapped between Nico’s teeth while he stares up at Jack with those big brown eyes. (Up until today, he didn’t think it was possible for someone to have eyes that resemble a baby cow, but there’s a first time for everything, apparently.)

Or, the one where Jack is a bartender and Nico is a workaholic Devils reporter. After Nico breaks up with his toxic ex-boyfriend, Jack offers to give him a private tour of all Jersey has to offer. Featuring extreme pining, a lab named Iris, lots of tension, and a night they'll never forget.

As soon as his agent picks up, Macklin spills the tea while it’s still piping hot.
“Is there anything in my contract about… physical relationships with staff or, like, people in the organisation?” Macklin blurts out.
There is a very pregnant pause. “People in the organisation?” His agent repeats slowly. “What did you do, Mack?”
“Nothing,” Mack says, too quickly to sound convincing. “Just… hypothetically.”

Or, Macklin spends the hottest night of his life with a pretty boy whose blond curls are nothing short of gorgeous. The next morning, he finds out that he just slept with the son of the man who owns the San Jose Sharks. He does not handle it well.

Summary
Jamie narrows his eyes like Trevor is being a jerk.
But then: “We always go to Tim’s after practice. I can ask if you guys can come?”
Trevor shrugs, but also wants to go. His mom might say no. Probably has some reason they shouldn’t, like a boring errand to do.
He holds his hot chocolate in his hands and sits next to Jamie and they watch last night’s Rangers highlights on Jamie’s mom’s phone, and Trevor chirps Jamie for having sugar on his face from his boring sour cream glazed donut.
