It took her a moment to realize he was nudging the book back to her, in hopes to get a name back. And so she did.
“Jinx.”

After a close call at a city hotspot hideout, Jinx barely escapes to the outskirts of the city in hopes for a safe place to stay, and possibly some bandages and medical supplies. That's when she bumps into another survivor, a foreign yet familiar face, and soon life feels worth living again, even amongst the chaos.

MarcusBarkus : I followed the recipe exactly except that I replaced nutmeg with ground anise for more of a kick. It did not turn out well. The taste was abysmal, like biting into a ball of cough medicine. I’ll have to dispose of the whole thing. I don’t know what went wrong because I followed the recipe to a tee.Jinx : @MarkusBarkus, I hope you drown in a vat of acid.

“Pretend to be my boyfriend.” She simply asked, like it was the most natural request in the world, because to her, it was.
“W-what?”
Jinx grasped his broad shoulders in her hands. “Listen to me!” She hissed and he swallowed, eyes wide open. She knew she must've looked deranged, her eyes were effortlessly analyzing every inch of his face. Her grip on his shoulder tightened, like holding onto him would ground her spiraling free thoughts. “I need you to pretend you're my boyfriend. Just for tonight,” Somehow, his eyes kept getting wider and wider. His gaze softened to complete disbelief.
“Is this a joke?”

Jinx is being bothered nonstop by a guy during a party. Men don't usually listen to women, but they do listen to men, so Jinx finds herself asking the only other familiar face around a favour. Ekko enters a fake relationship with Jinx to avoid sticky situations. It was supposed to last only one night, but things get out of control and leads up to unexpected real sparks between them.
