It doesn’t make sense, and yet it’s happening in front of her eyes. Not for the first time in the past two weeks, since the party, but most jarringly right now, as she’s returning with a copy of The Breakfast Club (it was Steve’s turn to choose a movie today, regrettably). The tape almost falls out of her hand as she stares, standing at the end of the horror section, looking exactly like a character from one of the movies on her side faced with a masked serial murderer.
Steve and Nancy become suddenly inseparable, and a lot like lovers. Battling with feelings she doesn't understand and missing her best friend Robin Buckley sets out to discover what's going on between the two of them.
Fic inspired by Jolene by the wonderful Dolly Parton. But make it lesbian.

And it turns out that yes, it will be. Nancy thanks her, they say goodbye, and she leaves as uneventfully as she came. It's no tragedy, and it's no epic romance. Nancy Wheeler is just one of the many fascinating girls that walk into Family Video all of the time. Robin will live to see another day. Probably. If she can stop thinking about that thirty-second interaction for long enough to remember to look both ways before she crosses the street.
“So," Steve asks. "Are we going shopping for your wedding suit?"
Robin flips him a bird, and allows her head to fall into her hands.
Robin's life is nothing like the movies. That is, at least, until Nancy Wheeler comes along.

Thirty minutes ago, she was suffocating on Steve’s couch while watching Tom Hanks drive a shiny Porsche into a lake. Now, she’s at the peak of Hawkins, bare-legged in the grass, clutching the jacket of a girl she thinks she might be falling in love with.
