Summary
He turns to go check out the bathroom, and that’s when he sees it.
The shower… You can see directly into it from the bed.
Eddie picks up a pillow and chucks it at Buck’s head.
“What was that for?!” Buck sits up, and Eddie points at the shower.
“Why would they make the shower like that? You can see into it from here!” Eddie exasperates.
Eddie can see the wheels in Buck’s head turning.
“You know, I’ve heard of these types of showers before. When you get in and turn on the water, it frosts over so no one can see in from the outside!” Buck says matter of factly.
Eddie nods, traces of doubt still showing on his face.
“Alright… I’m gonna let you be the test subject in that case.”
Buck laughs and says “Ok, Eddie.”Or:
Eddie and Buck go to a firefighter convention. The shower in their room is completely see-through, and Eddie is a weak man. -

SaveAHorse: I think that’s a great idea, Buck. Time and Place?Buck and Eddie match on Grindr while Eddie is still in El Paso.
Eddie stays anonymous, Buck does not…

Summary
“Buck, are you…?” Eddie stares Buck down through the screen, eyes wide and pupils blown.
Buck bites his lip, seemingly concentrated on… other things at the moment.
“Am I what, Eddie?” Buck looks up at him, grinning.
Eddie’s face turns ever more red than humanly possible in the glow of his phone screen.
“Y-you know what Buck.” Eddie clears his throat, shifting in his seat.
Buck lets out a small whine, loud enough for Eddie to hear, and Eddie sees his hand moving slightly faster than before. “I’ll do whatever you want me to, Eds. You won the game, remember?”Buck and Eddie decide to liven up their Friday night facetime with some games on imessage. The catch is, the loser of each round has to remove an article of clothing. You can take a wild guess what happens next…

Summary
“Eddie, I didn’t know you wore reading glasses?!” Buck yells from the living room.
“I didn’t.. Up until recently that is.”
Eddie walks out of the kitchen and goes to sit next to Buck. He stops dead in his tracks, mouth agape.
Buck is sitting on the couch, wearing said glasses, and smiling up at Eddie.Or, Buck jokingly puts on Eddie’s reading glasses, and it awakens a very specific part of Eddie that is.. More or less, insatiable.

Summary
Jee thrusts the card out towards Eddie. “For you,” she says, cheeks dimpling as her smile turns shy.
It reminds Eddie so much of Christopher, when he was this age. So sweet, so earnest. His heart squeezes in his chest as he accepts Jee’s card.
And— it is just about the cutest fucking thing Eddie’s ever seen, honestly.
The card, clearly handmade, is shaped like a bumblebee. A yellow teardrop body, striped with crooked lines of black marker. Its head is shaped like a heart, with two pipe cleaner antennae sticking out, and this teeny tiny u-shaped smile and a pair of googly eyes glued to make up its face. The kicker, though, are the wings — two big, slightly misshapen pink hearts (clearly cut out by Jee-Yun herself) protruding from either side, each with a little message scribbled out in Jee’s loopy handwriting. The one on the left reads “BEE mine” and a grin breaks out across Eddie’s face, an amused chuckle slipping past his lips. The one on the right, though — it brings an embarrassing lump to Eddie’s throat as he reads, “Happy Valentine’s Day Uncle Eddie!”
Uncle Eddie.
Oh.

Summary
"I just...don't know what I want to say about the real wish. I came up with one for work yesterday."
Chimney rolls his eyes and pulls out his phone.
"Well, you've got about five seconds to figure it out. I want to post this ASAP. Chief Simpson has been asking about it."
Buck's cheeks pink, and then suddenly the phone is trained on him.
"Go," Chim barks.
And Buck swallows.
"I'm uh...I'm Buck, and for Christmas this year I want everyone to make sure their turkeys come out at an internal cooking temperature of 165 degrees or higher, so no one gets sent to the hospital with food poisoning. And...for Santa to...leave my true love under the Christmas tree on Christmas morning."

Summary
“Hey,” Buck says, nudging Eddie with his elbow. He tips his chin towards the toothbrush in Eddie’s hands. “Gimme that when you’re done.”
Eddie pauses, the circular motions of his brushing coming to a halt. The toothbrush stays wedged between his teeth. His mouth still hangs open. “Uh,” he says, and toothpaste trickles from the corner of his mouth. “My toothbrush?”
Except — it comes out more like muh too bruh?
Buck snorts, chest glowing warm, and nods. “Yeah, what else?”
Eddie’s brow wrinkles, and his nose scrunches. “Uh, no?” He replies. “That’s gross.”

Summary
Mi media naranja. Half an orange, right? Like—two sides of the same coin, or something. A complementary coupla guys. A little silly, maybe, referring to a grown adult as a piece of fruit, but the sentiment is sweet enough.
“Hey,” Buck asks the girl beside him. “Um, Alba. She called Rosie ‘mi media naranja’. Like—half an orange? Is that a common saying in Mexico?”
“Oh, sure,” she nods. “It’s a pretty normal term of endearment. Cheesy as hell, but, well.” She gestures at where Eddie and the two women are sitting. Alba’s holding Rosie’s hand now. “When you’ve known each other that long and fit together that well… it’s just sweet.”
My most best friend. That’s what Alba said. That’s—well, that’s who Eddie is to him, essentially. And if what Eddie’s missing is a little affection in a language that feels like home, well. Buck can give that to him.
or, buck notices the lack of spanish terms of endearment in eddie’s life since his abuela died. so, he’s armed with what he’s been reliably informed is a totally normal thing to call your buddy. Operation Make My Best Friend Feel Cherished, as he’s named it on a trial basis in the privacy of his own head, is a-go
