Summary
Their past full of chasing and yearning was over.
It had ended a long time ago. They lived completely different lives now. They had wives, children. Everything was different.
Yet occasionally, Naruto would still find himself staring at Sasuke as he entered his office in ways that felt too similar to how he did back then. Back when Sasuke stood on the other side of a battlefield — not just the other side of a room.
Full of hope.
Full of sadness.And of course, Sasuke recognized the look.
But to protect their peace — or perhaps, to protect his heart, he wouldn’t dare utter a word about it.
Sometimes, he let himself believe Naruto wasn’t doing it on purpose. Maybe his face had grown so used to that same expression, it had become muscle memory.
He would only allow himself to wonder about such things in the middle of the night, lying beside his unknowing wife.

Naruto hated Sasuke. In every universe, in every way. Having been behind him his whole entire life, it was quite understandable. Behind him in elementary school, middle school, high school and now college as well. To be completely honest, it was a miracle that Naruto got into this college in the first place. The reason being solely his athletic abilities. He hated Sasuke, and how perfect Sasuke seemed to be.
