“It’s not just that,” Jeff said, sitting up and wiping at his eyes before taking in a deep breath. “Phi, there’s… there’s something else you need to know.”
“What?” Alan asked, worry lacing his scent once more. “What is it?”
“It’s nothing bad,” Jeff shook his head, trying to calm his alpha down. “I don’t… I don’t see it as a bad thing. But Phi, without you, I don’t know how I’d be able to go through with this. I need you.” Jeff’s voice softened, and he took hold of Alan’s hand, guiding to towards his stomach. He placed the man’s palm flat against it, gripping his wrist tightly, fresh tears spilling from his eyes. “We need you.”
