John is frantic and becoming borderline delusional with his attempts at stopping this; the scene reloops every time like it's trying to tell him he can't stop it, but he doesn't listen. He tries again and again and again to no avail. Distantly, he thinks, what's that saying? About doing something over and over with no change, something about how he’s crazy, no doubt.
