“Are you trying to get yourself killed?!” they shout over each other at the same time.
“Me?” Peter stumbles to his feet. “What were you even doing in there?”
“Spider-Man was going to come,” she seethes, “but you made me miss him.”
A wave of pain radiates from Peter’s side, and he topples back to his knees with a wince.
“Oh shit.” MJ steps closer, but freezes at the sight of the blood that comes away on his hands. “Are you okay?”
