Summary
The whole point of Earl was supposed to be that he was safe, that he would respect Cecil every way. Calling them ‘boy’—good boy even, when they’re presumably floating and vulnerable, maybe even nonverbal like Carlos gets, when they maybe can’t and definitely wouldn’t fight back against it—how could he? How dare he?

Summary
This takes place many months after I Cannot See Your Smiling God. I originally started tacking it onto the tail of that story, but the tone was so different, I got cold feet -- anyhoo, I'm popping it back up on its own and hope to add a few chapters to work through my notes and see where it goes.
Plot-wise though, it does rely on situations as they were set up in that story, in case you're scratching your head at what's going on. :)Bookmarked by zugzwang (thunderdone)

Summary
Earl's a pretty helpful guy. So when his scientist boyfriend asks for some help in conducting an experiment, he's happy to lend a hand.
Of course, he didn't expect to be sitting on a couch while, ahem, adult videos play and Carlos takes notes.

Summary
“I’m a naturally anxious person. I have an oral fixation, you may have noticed. I lack decision making skills. I’m too weak-willed to kick a habit. I’m sullen and contrary and am driven to make bad choices just to spite expectation. I always wanted someone to care enough to ask me why I’d do something so stupid. The smell reminds me of my mother.” He turned toward Carlos with that fretful smile. “Pick one. They’re all true.”
