Summary
Nikolai wished Fyodor would write over his body with that quill. Scratch things into his skin with that calm focus until Nikolai died a canvas, until Fyodor could rewrite him to be free.
Free, finally. His mind had been corrupted by his heart. His lungs showed as much.
He coughed into his handkerchief again, quickly removing it from his mouth as he saw the cypress flower petals and blood again. He tucked it away into a portal, hoping Fyodor didn't notice what he coughed up.

Fyodor looked at Nikolai. A few things hit him at once.
One: Nikolai was going to die
Two: Nikolai was not the puppet he had thought.
Three: Fyodor was a complete, and total idiot. Underestimating the enemy. Because, at this point, Nikolai had always been his enemy.

Nikolai has hanahaki and grapples with how human it is. Fyodor cares and doesn’t like that he does. So then they pine and die slowly and it’s great 👍

“It's Dazai. He got hurt, badly. He needs an operation and, well, he’s not taking it very nicely.”
Chuuya froze. He then continued his search with vigor, sighed, and went to his balcony.
He glanced over Yokohama before answering.
“I’ll be there in five. Don’t let the bastard kill himself before I get there.”

Dazai needs surgery. He doesn’t want it. Thankfully, Chuuya is there to help. They might uncover some unpleasant memories along the way. Maybe Dazai will open up, forcefully or not. It’s just hurt/comfort!
