    “What brought this on?” Despite the initial shock, Percy's face was back to as frustratingly even as ever.

    “Um,” what is this, an interrogation? The twins better get on their bloody knees and thank him for his fearless service. He fumbled for an answer. He was still unsure of what exactly he was trying to achieve. “The twins pranked me. Today.” He put on his blandest expression (Ron was a horrendous liar who wore all his emotions on his face and he knew this acutely). “A pie. Right to my face. I still don’t know how they got it.” (Where were the applications to the nearest circus?)

    Incredibly, impossibly, Percy relaxed back into his seat. ‘Bloody hell,’ he couldn’t help but marvel, 'the bar is low.’

    “You, Percy-- sorta, ya know . .” he looked down and picked at the bedsheets, “get pranked by the twins, um, a lot. So I just wanted to know, what . . you thought.” This took even Ron by surprise, because somewhere along the way, it’d turned into a genuine question.
