She had griped about coming to this party since she found out it was happening, sulking over it like a spoiled child. So, Shi Qingxuan had issued a challenge. They would play a game all evening long, to see if He Xuan could change her behavior. It was simple enough; good behavior earned rewards, bad behavior earned punishment. He Xuan had become considerably more excited for the party after that, but not necessarily at the prospect of earning rewards. Her scheming mind was working away, devising ways she could tip the scales in her favor and produce an outcome that she wanted: less time spent at an irritating social event and more time alone with Qingxuan.
