It's 1986 and Tim Laughlin is trying to make it through the AIDS crisis in San Francisco by protesting where he can while also working at Ward 5b at San Francisco General Hospital. He swears he's over Hawkins Fuller until Marcus comes back from a business trip in DC with devastating news. This will be the last time Tim will see Hawk, but it's also the time they'll finally get it right.
Or: Hawk gets AIDS instead of Tim and Tim dedicates his whole life to taking care of the man he loves.

“You’re a good man, Hawkins Fuller,” he begins. Hawk goes to protest but feels a rush of nausea the second he opens his mouth. The world goes fuzzy again but a snap from Rafael’s fingers brings him back to lucidity.
“You are. Or you can be.” He searches Hawk’s face and gives a small nod, apparently satisfied with whatever he finds there. Says, “I’m going to share a Glimpse with you – but there are rules. One: tell no one. Two: Send a prayer if you need me. And three: do better.”
“I have,” Hawk tries to say, words slurring out, “no fucking clue what you’re talking about.”

Wylan, Jesper, and Nina flee back to Ravka, but when the Wandering Isle closes its harbor and the Fjerdans threaten war, Nikolai needs a crew that can infiltrate Maroch Castle and gather information.
