Summary
An open bento sits between them on the table, and as he talks, Yuki holds out some greens for Nico with his chopsticks, only to snatch them away with a laugh when Nico leans in. It’s playful in a way Yuki never is, a flush of joy coloring his cheeks as he looks at Nico. It’s flirty, Musa decides, downright romantic, and he can’t help but think that maybe Yuki is like this, only not when the rest of them can see.
Nico grins too. Then, the moment Yuki’s finished chewing, he’s leaning in and kissing Yuki on the lips.
Musa’s heart quietly bursts.
Over the course of a year, the team find out about Nico And Yuki.

“Wanna go for a run?”
Nico’s face pokes into Yukihiko’s room, the pleasant rumble of his voice drifting inside lazily.
“No,” Yukihiko replies automatically, and it’s mostly true: he hasn’t felt the urge to run since he pressed that black sash into Nico’s hand in Odawara. But it’s also a lie because– well, because it’s Nico inviting him, and Yukihiko’s been enjoying their occasional laps around the neighborhood since the Ekiden even if he’ll never love running the way Nico does, even if he just goes to spend even more time in the warm comfort of his company.
Nico and Yuki go for a run after the Ekiden, and Yuki pines.

Akiteru wonders if this job was worth giving up a life he'd settled into comfortably, with friends and a city that felt like home. He sighs as he traces idle lines into the condensation on his glass of beer, looking lazily around the bar just as the one unmitigated spot of joy in his new life walks in and takes off the hood that only half managed to protect him from the beating rain outside.
Tenma looks dishevelled, with some long dark strands plastered to his face and the shoulders of his hoodie several shades darker than the rest, but he still throws Akiteru a bright smile and a cute wave when he spots him in their booth.
Lately, Akiteru’s been thinking Tenma is cute. Tenma’s thought Akiteru is cute since high school.

Of the way he’d grabbed Akihiro’s wrist after their afternoon run, pulling him to a stop to let everyone else go inside before them and stealing a kiss. Of We haven’t been alone in three days, let’s come out here tonight?

Summary
Yukihiko is lying on Nico's futon, his long-abandoned book resting on his chest, watching as Nico keeps fiddling with a few lines of code. He's been hanging out here even more than usual lately – with the Ekiden behind them, Nico's been working on his assignments, finally motivated enough to finish his third year, and Yukihiko's decided to make sure he doesn't slack off. Plus, it's nice here: Yukihiko likes the peaceful, quiet company with the occasional bickering. It lets him focus on his books, and the soft clacking of the keys as Nico types is comforting.
Except Yukihiko finds that he reads less and less as his gaze keeps wandering from the pages to Nico’s broad back, his soft sweatshirts, his neck, his profile.
Yukihiko pines. Then he starts to think, maybe...

As he keeps working on the dishes, Akihiro’s mind drifts to memories from the night of the festival, like the two of them sharing a tray of takoyaki, or how, when he saw Musa’s longing looks, Yuki immediately gave him his ring-toss prize. Yuki eating shaved ice, Yuki lit by fireworks. Yuki trying to find the ugliest pair of masks for the twins, that terrible, attractive smirk on his lips.
That quiet moment at the end of the night.
In the week since the festival, Akihiro’s replayed every moment with Yuki countless times, but there’s one he keeps coming back to even more than the others: the one they shared right here, in the kitchen, just the two of them.
Akihiro does the dishes and thinks about Yuki.

He hears Yamaguchi's fingers softly dragging against the door, and he thinks he can guess what Yamaguchi might be doing: he thinks back to countless memories of an anxious Yamaguchi tracing shapes into his desk, the gym floor, sometimes Kei’s back. Is he nervous too?
Kei stifles the urge to reach out.
“It's just a stupid game, you know. We don't really have to do anything,” he says instead, and he can feel Yamaguchi’s hair brush lightly against his cheek as he speaks.
Kei really wants to kiss Yamaguchi, even if it's just because of a stupid game.
