Kilau peraknya memantulkan cahaya dari lampu taman dengan lembut. Di hari ulang tahun Sang Pangeran Mahkota yang istimewa, Daeyoung juga memberikan hadiah yang lebih dari biasanya untuk Yushi.
“Boleh aku pasangkan?” Daeyoung bertanya. Ia melepaskan gelang pemberiannya bulan lalu yang masih terpasang dan menggantinya dengan gelang yang baru. Gelang baru yang terbuat dari perak berkilau, tipis dan halus, menjalar di pergelangan tangan seperti ranting mungil yang sedang tumbuh. Dari rantingnya bermekaran bunga-bunga kecil berkelopak lima, dihiasi batu bening yang berkilau lembut setiap kali tertimpa cahaya. Seakan ranting itu adalah ikatan yang perlahan-lahan membelit hati sang pemakai, menghubungkannya pada orang yang memberi.
“Cantik sekali,” pujian Daeyoung yang tidak pernah berubah sejak 15 tahun lalu kembali terdengar. Yushi tetap tersipu. Jantungnya tetap berdetak sangat kencang. Hanya bukan lagi karena rasa takut, tetapi karena sesuatu yang tidak berani Yushi coba cari artinya.
