Summary
Upon their arrival, Nie Huaisang is outside with Jiang Wanyin and Wei Wuxian. The formers are respectful with their greetings, while the latter is…personable. He practically runs up to the two of them like some lost puppy. Lan Wangji assumes Wei Wuxian must think he’s being endearing, but he’s really just crossing boundaries. He has that brilliantly bright smile plastered on his face, though.
“Ah, Lan Zhan, yeah?” Wei Wuxian says. “And Lan Xichen.” He nods his head once to his brother before refocusing on Lan Wangji. “How are you, Lan Zhan? Will you be staying and hanging out?”
Lan Zhan. He’s referring to him as Lan Zhan. Lan Wangji isn’t even sure how Wei Wuxian could’ve learned that name—no one refers to him as such—but Wei Wuxian has no shame in using it. He’s talking to him like they’ve known each other their entire lives rather than this being only just their second meeting. Tch. Lan Wangji doesn’t even want to dignify him with a response. Luckily, he doesn’t have to.
