Summary
As Sonic’s thirteenth birthday approaches, he comes to the sobering realization that he’s never asked when Tails’s birthday was. And to add salt to the wound, Tails doesn’t even remember ever having a birthday. Since this is obviously unacceptable, Sonic immediately seeks to rectify the situation, unaware that something as simple as wanting to give the kid a good birthday might set the stage for his life changing once again in ways he never could’ve predicted.

There’s too much to say about the Picket Fence series this lovely writer has made and honestly it’s all SO GOOD. I always come back for a re-read.
I regularly keep up with all their writings especially ever since I found this gem years ago, and the writing has always been so spectacular and definitely is one of the main reasons I actually even chose to write as I do now. Yes, I’ve even told my Sonic loving friends and others who look for fic recommendations to check this out.
If you are a HUGE Sonic and Tails brotherly bonding moments lover— Skimmingmilk’s writing are an absolute must, ESPECIALLY Sometimes the Picket Fence isn’t Perfect. Absolutely phenomenal and extremely well written.
