V’s got a Ballsy magazine stuffed somewhere in the crack between the bed and the wall, but he’s looked it over so many times he can practically see the spreads, in every sense of the word, with his eyes closed. V opens his eyes and startles.
Johnny’s lying right next to him.
He should have been expecting it, he guesses, given the fact that tonight he’s taking longer than usual. Still, Johnny’s never come back early before. He could’ve given him the courtesy of a call, a knock, at least some sort of sitcom skit level barging through the door. A honey, I’m home, cue canned laughter. But that relied on Johnny Silverhand being courteous to begin with; and it relied, more importantly, on Johnny actually ever truly leaving.
