He adored, for example, spending time with his friends. Pulling pranks, Quidditch practice, and just flying for fun. Hanging out and lazing about on the weekends and going out to bars with a huge group of people. So many things made him smile.
Nothing compared to this.
He had a lot of favorite places, too.
His parents’ kitchen, warm and full of the scents of different foods that always tasted best when they came from Effie. The Great Hall, especially during a snowstorm. The top of the Astronomy Tower, and the dorm room he’d shared with his best friends for seven years. His new flat with his boyfriend.
Nothing compared to right here.

Summary
After an explosive fight with his girlfriend, James Potter finds himself on the doorstep of his best friend in the middle of the night.
However, Sirius isn't the one that answers the door. It's his grumpy little brother Regulus, who hasn't been shy about avoiding James' presence at any cost for years. To his surprise, Regulus ends up inviting him in for some tea.
