His eyes were wide as he stared at the gloves, then at her. “They’ll keep me from hurting people?”
“Yeah!” she laughed. “Just like a hero wears, right?” she held up her own hands, wiggling her fingers. Her gloves were fraying at the edges, holding signs of a battle she had been through, but he didn’t know what her costume had looked like before. “What’s your name, huh?”
“Shimura Tenko,” he held out his hands to let her put the gloves on him, watching as his fingers slid into the material. When she handed him another rock, this one stayed whole. “It works…”
