Summary
It’s quiet. Eerily quiet. The usual chirping of birds has dimmed to the mere rustling of leaves and the occasional car driving by. The wooden floorboards, splintered by the relentless fights and occasional beatings lay covered in ripped-up photos of him. Faintly, his scent still remains, a lingering memory, to the shreds that once defined what true love felt like. A few photos remain untouched here and there — sprinkling a nauseatingly bittersweet touch to the room. The bed lies unscathed, rogue covers spread across every crevice of the mattress, enveloping it into a deformed pile of sheets and clothes.
It’s not his best work, but it’ll have to do for today.
