Summary
With a best friend who plays hockey with her whole body and very little self-preservation, and years of feelings she has filed carefully under not my problem, Kim Chaewon has built a comfortable life around managed distances and blind dates that go nowhere.
The problem arrives when unmated alphas on campus start being quietly pushed out, and Yunjin, faced with a housing review that could take her whole team down with her, has exhausted every reasonable option and landed, somehow, on the most unhinged one.
A fake mating bond, just until the review closes. It's completely rational, if you don't think about it too hard, which Chaewon, unfortunately, has always been excellent at doing.
The real problem isn't the paperwork. It's that everyone around them takes the news with a shrug and a "finally", that neither of them has to try very hard to be convincing, and that Yunjin (who has bruised, twisted, or tripped over everything in her path, and everything Chaewon has ever carefully arranged inside her chest) keeps saying true things without knowing what they cost.
