“That’s not normal…” he whispered. “Not normal at all.”Panic hit him fast. He snatched his phone and started typing into Google as quickly as his fingers would move: “white tips on hair at 15?” “sudden hair change?” “is this an infection?” “am I dying!?”
Most of the answers said it wasn’t harmful, just a condition that some people have. That should have calmed him down—but it didn’t. He still felt embarrassed, almost ashamed, like having it made him stand out in the wrong way.

Summary
Susie was, admittedly, not the brightest bulb in the shed, but even she could notice it. The tension brewing in the air whenever they all hung out, electric, stifling, threatening to overflow. Ever-present in everything, from barbed quips to stolen, terse glances when they thought she wasn't looking. That playful banter, those private conversations. Kris and Noelle had been doing this constantly, trying to be secretive and failing miserably. It was clear to anyone who took a closer look than usual what was going on.
