Summary
Park Jimin isn't sure at what point Taehyung stopped being his friend, and he definitely doesn't understand why the boy wants to talk to him now, after ghosting him all summer. He also didn’t think it could get much worse after junior year, but this summer had been hell, with his father leaving and his mother turning to the bottle to cope with it. He's decided senior year has to be different, somehow, but it's hard to forget your past when it stares you in the face.
Kim Taehyung isn't surprised Jimin left him on read. Leaving for his summer program at Stanford without saying anything was a dick move, and he was honestly expecting the boy to have blocked his number by now. But seeing the two blue check-marks in the bottom corner of the screen has instilled some hope in him that he hasn’t yet lost the only person in his life who actually matters anything to him.
And Jeon Jungkook? He just wants the students at his new school to leave him alone. If going through the foster system and always being the new kid has taught him anything, it's that there's no point in getting attached to people.
