    Summary

    Hubert von Vestra has a problem: he's attempting to secure a political alliance for the Empire via marriage, only to discover that many of Edelgard's romantic prospects believe her to be already married—to him. The easiest way to dispel these rumors is to get married himself, but Hubert has long known himself to be a homosexual.

    The solution he arrives at is simple: enter into a fake marriage with the equally queer cabaret dancer Dorothea Arnault.

    Dorothea, long seeking a way out of the poverty she was born into, agrees. However, the longer she's ingrained in palace life, the more wrapped up she finds herself in Edelgard and Hubert's political machinations, becoming drawn further and further into a world of secrets, spies, and intrigue.
