Summary
If Jaemin tries hard enough, then he can continue to believe that the whole charade they’re playing isn’t real, that what he and Chenle are engaging in is purely just for show. The double-shot espresso Chenle generously paid for a few hours ago sits cold on the coffee table untouched.
When Jaemin goes to reach for it, his hand trembles. There’s a camera blatantly set up in the corner of the living room; a clear shot of the couch. Jaemin hopes the camera still isn’t rolling. He doesn’t want the editors to review footage of him fiddling with his drink; the grooves of the coffee cup don’t feel right against his fingers. Something like that can’t be recorded. It’s supposed to be a wholesome sight, a moment behind closed doors. Chenle may have been his bandmate first, but now Chenle is his contractually obligated boyfriend.
His hand has stopped shaking, and yet Jaemin can’t get past the first sip of his coffee.
