    Dean and Cas tried to reach Sam before he closed the gates...but they were a moment too late. This is a what if scenario where Sam sacrifices his life to close Hell. The resulting loss sends Dean into a tailspin. Cas still falls for the trap, resulting in his being human. This is a story of two damaged people, trying to cope with their new reality.
