Work Text:
Moving is hard work.
Jimin puts the heavy box he has been carrying up two floors down to open his new apartment.
He hears heavy breaths from the stairs behind him, turning to look at Taehyung carrying a box probably as heavy as his.
"Why are you so done already? We just started!" Jimin giggles as Tae drops the box and just kneels in front of it.
Taehyung answers by giving him a pout, pushing himself up to step over the box.
"It's not my fault you're so strong. Not fair, why don't you carry everything while I go and buy furniture?" he says, still pouting.
Jimin grabs his keys from his pocket, smiling brightly at Taehyung.
"But Taehyungie, don't you want to do that with me? It's way more fun to choose and set up everything together!"
He moves to open the door, but stops midway.
"Even this. It's way more fun to do it with each other."
Taehyung smiles fondly, putting his hand on Jimin's.
"That's true, Jiminie."
Moving away from home is hard.
Taehyung is sitting on the floor next to Jimin, silently eating his food while they're taking a break from carrying boxes. He doesn't know what to say and think, he's just deeply in his thoughts.
Jimin stares at him.
"What are you thinking about?" he asks him warily, not sure what to make of Taehyung's sudden mood change. Taehyung immediately looks up, surprised about Jimin's words cutting through his thoughts.
"I- nothing... don't worry, I'm just... Don't mind it, really" he stammers out, not wanting to explain his thoughts. They're ridiculous, really.
Jimin puts his food down at that, moving closer to Taehyung. He raises his hand and gently lets his hand slide through Taehyung's soft, brown hair.
"You know you can talk to me, don't you? We agreed that you won't keep anything that bothers you to yourself"
As Taehyung leans into his touch, asking him to continue, he starts talking.
"It's just.. What if it's too soon? I already start to think it was a bad idea and we're not even finished... I-Its not about you but I... I'm just scared." He cuddles himself onto Jimin, staring at the floor. "I know it sounds childish but I already miss my family, I won't see them everyday from now on... It's just....weird.."
He then looks up at Jimin, doubt showing in his wide eyes. In return he gets a soft smile, showing complete understanding.
"Baby....TaeTae, you're not childish. Don't ever think that, i understand you. I understand you so much, I'm scared too. But you know what? I think of what's happening right now, not of what is going to happen later. We're here, together. We've come so far, just us alone being here in our own apartment is more than I've ever hoped for. You're more than I've ever hoped for and still, we're here."
Taehyung smiles at that. He sits up and kisses Jimin's cheek, then snuggles his own on Jimins shoulder.
"Yeah, you're right. Together.......can we still visit my family tomorrow? Please?"
"Of course Baby, as long as you're happy" Jimin laughs.
Moving together is hard....
After they're done carrying all the boxes into their apartment, they decide to relax. They've put down an air matress as substitute for their not-yet-bought bed.
"You know, Taehyungie," Jimin starts "I'm also scared. I'm scared that this won't last... that you'll leave me and I have no place to be, no one to live with....I know, I said that I live now, but... I just can't believe you're here with me, we don't even have a proper bed, I'm just such a terrible boyfrie-"
"Shush. Jiminie...please. I won't leave you. I'll be here with you." Taehyung turns to Jimin, scooting closer and hugging him.
...but as long as you're with me, everything's fine.
"I love you. As you said, we're here, together. You're the best boyfriend ever. I don't need a proper bed right now. Everything......everything i want and need right now....is you. "
