Summary
Sequel to We Are What We Are. Now he and Oswald are officially allies, and unofficially something more, Edward is eager to explore the more physical avenues open to them in their new relationship. But while Oswald is happy enough to oblige when it comes to some acts, he is surprisingly reticent when it comes to others, and a tense confrontation one night leads Edward to find out why.

“So if any of this –” Edward repeats the waving back and forth. “– is not you. Then it doesn’t interest me.” He holds Oswald’s gaze as he finishes, needing to be sure Oswald is taking this in because it’s so very, very important. “Do you understand?”
It takes a minute, but slowly Oswald’s frown drops away and Edward doesn’t have to puzzle out the reaction because he knows that relief. The freedom of not having to pretend, of discovering that there is one part of yourself, at least, that does not require modification or second guessing, that it’s safe to let it be, just as it is. Granted it’s not a feeling Edward has much experience of, but that’s exactly why the few occasions he has known it have stuck with him.
