We hastily judge people for their actions, overlooking their reasons and virtues. We fail to see beyond the surface, forgetting that what we witness is just the tip of the iceberg.
Nanette is a woman who yearned to matter desperately. Throughout her life, she had been downtrodden and belittled, leading her to believe that validation and purpose could be found through the attention of boys and men. Repeatedly hurt, abused, and plagued by insecurities, she turned to sex as a coping mechanism—a means to feel attractive, desired, and loved. She became addicted to the power derived from making someone desire her—a rush she couldn't resist.
It's ironic how every encounter left her feeling the opposite of "loved." The men she encountered didn't take her seriously; they toyed with her, led her on, and ultimately discarded her like trash. Each instance further eroded her self-esteem, trapping her on a destructive path.
As she gradually begins to turn her life around, will she stumble along the way and continue repeating the same mistakes? Or will she rise above her past and let go of her emotional baggage?
