oh, lucky one

Summary:

When your soulmates dyes their hair, your hair color changes the same color to what your soulmate dyed it to. And Jungkook's soulmate just had to dye his hair before he goes in a job interview.

Work Text:

Jungkook thinks he's one fucking unlucky guy. No, scratch that. He knows he's one fucking unlucky guy. In fact, he thinks he's the unluckiest out of all the unlucky people in the world. He prepared for this job interview. He really did. He knows what he's going to say, what to tell the interviewer about himself and all the other stuff his boss might ask him. He's bought a neat white polo with no creases and shiny black shoes to make the outfit work.

But no. Jungkook's soulmate had other fucking plans. It was four days before the interview when Jungkook woke up with bright, vibrant pink colored fucking hair. Jungkook went hysterical. His soulmate is a fucking idiot. The company he's trying to get into is prestigious and required a dark hair color, preferably black or any shade of brown. Jungkook tried to dye it to black but it would just go back to the vibrant color once again in a few minutes.

"I'm sure your boss would understand." Hoseok tries to reassure him, offering him a warm smile.

"No. He wouldn't! Hyung, Seokjin hyung told me that there was this one intern that went on an interview with pink hair and got yelled at for it. I can't let this go to waste just because of a hair color! I've been wanting to work there since I was twelve!" Jungkook whines, flopping back to his bed, wailing like a little brat. (Which he is.)

"Maybe said intern didn't explain that his soulmate dyed his hair." Hoseok shrugs. "C'mon, Jungkook. Lighten up. Who knows? Maybe your soulmate is your boss."

Jungkook sits back to glare at Hoseok. "You're nuts. Why would my soulmate be my boss?"

"Hey, it's possible." Hoseok chuckles softly. Jungkook just rolls his eyes and went back to moping like the kid he is. His nineteen year old brain isn't cut out for this. He shouldn't be really stressing over his job interview if his stupid soulmate didn't dye their hair. And pink is definitely not Jungkook's color. Tsk tsk. His soulmate should know better.

He mutters something like, "Stupid soulmate making things hard for me." which Hoseok didn't quite catch, before storming off the room, to try and dye his hair back to it's natural color again.

After a few hours, he comes back to their dorm and whines about his 'stupid soulmate' once again.

Today's the day. Holy shit. Jungkook feels like he's going to piss himself during the interview. Just by thinking about it sent chills to his spine. The bad kind of chills.

The thought of his soon-to-be (or not) boss yelling at him about his hair color scared him. He really doesn't want to fuck this up and not get the job because working here is all he wants to do in life. He's smart and professional. He's perfect for jobs like these! But his fucking soulmate decided to play tricks on him.

He sighs, before flinging the door open. The building from the outside seemed large. But the inside seemed even larger. Employees decked in formal wearing, answering calls, doing paper work, doing stuff. Jungkook was so ready to be a part of this all.

On one side, he can see people on work mode. In the other, he sees a group of chill persons, sharing a cup of coffee with one another, and telling each other stories, laughing about it afterwards.

"Hey, kid, what're you doing here?" One of the guards ask, squeezing Jungkook's shoulder.

Jungkook turns around and bows. "O-Oh. I'm here for the job interview?"

"Uh huh. You do know that this company requires dark hair colors, right? It's part of the-"

"I know. B-But... My soulmate, um-"

"Ah, soulmate issues, huh? It's alright. I think Mr. Park would go easy on you. Good luck though. He can be a real beast when it comes to people not following the proper attire and required hair colors. Soulmate wise or not."

Jungkook gulps.

"Mr. Park must be waiting. He's on the fifth floor. Good luck again!" The guard waves, a smile on his face.

"Y-Yeah, thank you." Jungkook ducks his head to bow carefully before trudging down to take an elevator.

Once he got there, the elevator bell made a 'ding!' sound and opened. It was full of people. But he really didn't have much time since the interview is scheduled at 2 in the afternoon. It's already 1:46PM. He can't be late. His hair color is already one thing that's on the line. Being late is the last thing he wanted to be. He sighs and squeezes himself in the crowd of people.

Despite their silence, though, Jungkook is sure that the people around him are staring. Staring at him. Staring at his bright red, not dark colored hair. Fuck his life.

It didn't take a few moments before the elevator bell 'ding'ed again. Jungkook hurriedly gets out and finds Room 13-B, where the interview is going to be held.

As soon as he spotted the light painted door with a gold plaque on it, with the words, 'Room 13-B' written in black bold letters, he was speeding again. He stops his tracks and takes a moment to catch his breath before knocking softly on the door. He hears a faint, 'Come in', and he knows. This is fucking it.

The interview proper went ridiculously well. With the man in front of him asking questions like, "What's your main intention to be applying out for a job like this?" and "What can we expect from you and how?" The questions portion? He aced it. He knows he did well and he's really proud of himself.

Mr. Park sets the black clipboard he's been holding down and sighs. He clasps his hands together before staring right into Jungkook's soul. "Now, Mr. Jeon, I think you are aware with the regulatory compliance we have here, don't you?"

"Y-Yes, sir. I do." Jungkook clears his dry throat, feeling Mr. Park's gaze on him, heavy.

"And that is?" The man hums.

"Each employee is required to wear a formal light colored polo, black slacks and black shoes for men and... A dark hair color." Jungkook wets his lips. He gulps visibly and hears a creak in the door but ignores it.

"Yes, would you like to explain why you're re right now, Mr. Jeon? We take our compliance here very seriously and I know that you know that. One of the most important things here to follow is proper attire and proper hair color. I h-"

"Don't be so hard on my soulmate, dad." He hears someone say.

Jungkook cocks his head to the direction of the voice. In the furthest corner of the room, he sees someone petite and small wearing a thin white shirt and a pair of black slacks. He was sitting comfotably in a plastic chair, legs crossed. Jungkook took note of the boy's facial features. Small, adorable eyes. Cute little button nose. And plump, red lips. Pinkhair. _Pink fucking hair. The same shade as Jungkook's.

"S-Soulmate," Jungkook whispers under his breath but the boy still caught it. He gives Jungkook the softest smile before Jungkook melted into a puddle of goo.

Mr. Park clears his throat. "Jimin, we're in the middle of an interview. What did I tell you about interrupting them? And why aren't you wearing your polo?"

Jimin. Park Jimin. Wow, my soulmate has a beautiful name.

"Hani noona spilled tea on it earlier. She told me she'll send it out for dry cleaning, don't worry." Said Jimin tells his his dad. Then, he averts his attention back to Jungkook. "What's your name, soulmate?"

"J-Jungkook." Jungkook mutters, cheeks being painted a light shade of pink.

"You're hot." Jimin giggles. And oh god. His giggle is so cute. (Jungkook can feel himself softly nutting by now.)

"You always ruin my professionalism, Jimin." Mr. Park chuckles lightly, getting up on his seat. "Well, since this had a sudden turn of events, I'm just going to let you two be. You got the job, Mr. Jeon. I hope to see you next week with dark hair colors. You too, Jimin."

Jungkook freezes. "Oh my god. Mr. Park, thank you so much!"

"I see potential in you, Mr. Jeon. Thank you for choosing our company." Mr. Park bows lightly.

Jungkook bows back then turns his attention to Jimin. "Um, so you're my soulmate, huh."

"Yeah," Jimin stands up from where he was sitting. "But before you say anything else, let's get out of here first. Let's grab lunch. You've eaten, right? Even if you did, we're still going out for lunch."

"O-Okay." Jungkook nods.

And they were out of there.

"I really wanted to fucking hit you." Jungkook admits, laughing as he dug into the plate of spaghetti they ordered.

"Well, I'm sorry I made you nervous as hell." Jimin giggles again. With that cute as fuck giggle of his, yes. "The only reason why I dyed my hair pink is for me to know who my soulmate is. You don't know how frustrating it is. We're almost twenty three and we still haven't met each other."

"Yeah, well, now that we have met each other, you're not planning to dye your hair again, right?"

"Of course."

"Okay, good." Jungkook smirks. "Because I thought I would've had to punish you for being a bad boy."

Jimin almost choked on his drink while Jungkook laughs at him. "Oh god, Jimin, I was just kidding."

"I'm your hyung." Jimin states.

"I'm aware." Jungkook shrugs, a cheeky grin plastered on his face.

"I have a brat as a soulmate. God, did I murder someone in my past life to experience this?" Jimin kids, sighing.

"Hey, you should be thankful that you have one hot piece of bratty ass as your soulmate. Because I'm pretty fucking thankful that you're my soulmate. You're so fucking adorable! Your height, also! I can literally keep you in my pocket and protect you forever." Jungkook coos.

Jimin rolls his eyes. "I'm not that small and our height difference is like... 4 or 5 cm so shut it."

"My baby," Jungkook coss again, reaching uo to pinch Jimin's cheeks.

"Wow, I have a bratty, cheesy soulmate. I really did murder someone in my past life, huh?" Jimin chuckles.

"You keep forgetting the 'hot' part." Jungkook folds his arms, pouting cutely.

"Ah, fine, fine. I have a bratty, cheesy, hot as fuck soulmate. Better?" Jimin teases, a wide smile on his face.

"Definitely." Jungkook snorts.

There was a pregnant pause before Jungkook says, "Jimin?"

"Yes?"

"Kiss me."

"Jungkook, we're inside a restaurant." Jimin giggles, shaking his head.

"We're in the furthest table anyway. Come on. I've been staring at it too much." Jungkook whines, slumping his shoulders. Then, he suddenly grabbed hold of Jimin's shoulders before pulling the small boy into a kiss. It was innocent and sweet. Just the way they both like it. Endearing and full of love.

"Thanks for being my soulmate, soulmate." Jungkook whispers into the kiss. "I love you."

"I love you, too." Jimin whispers back, softly running his hand over Jungkook's hair.

Needless to say, maybe Jungkook really had luck on his side after all.
