"Okay, so you put this here."
"Okay."
"Then try- Jungkook, what the hell???"
"Sorry Jinnie hyung."
"Ugh. I told you earlier not to add this but this. Seriously you kid!"
"Sorry again hyung."
"Okay, let's start from scratch."
Taehyung pouts at the sight.
"So I have to wait for another half an hour to spend time with Kookie, huh?"
He clutched his little doodle notebook before deciding to leave the kitchen. He'll just watch some anime or movie so he won't get bored while waiting for his boyfriend and their Seokjin hyung to finish whatever they are doing in the kitchen.
Truth be told, Taehyung is getting jealous of the amount of times Jungkook is spending with Seokjin. At first, it was understandable because of "damage control"(that's when he and Jungkook go a little overboard with their flirting during concerts or anywhere within the public eye and it concerns all of BTS, their staff and Bang PD-nim; it's usually just Seokjin and Jimin, but sometimes, Yoongi joins them), but it has been getting frequent, but not to a point that Jungkook is neglecting him(he is still such a loving, sappy boyfriend, thank you very much).
And then one time, he sees Jungkook in the kitchen, cooking(probably the first of the many times he saw his boyfriend and their hyung being in the kitchen). He was about to come in but then he sees Seokjin and his heart dropped when he saw how he asked their hyung to taste what he cooked. He felt a tinge of jealousy not because their hyung is leaning closely to his boyfriend, but because of all the people he could have asked to taste Jungkook's meal, why can't it be him? Him as in Kim Taehyung? Jeon Jungkook's boyfriend?
He remembers feeling super sad as he mumbled, "You could've asked me, I'm your boyfriend."
Of course he never told Jungkook that. He knows Jungkook isn't cheating on him, but he really can't help it. He loves Jungkook so much.
He frowns at the memory and then of the present time. He looks at his watch and frowns upon realizing that it's been more than an hour since he last dropped by the kitchen and his boyfriend is still there. With Seokjin. He feels so upset. His shoulders drop and he sulks. Cries actually. He badly wants to go to the kitchen and rant, but he couldn't. He can't just lash out like that. With that, he goes to his room and just cries there.
An hour later, Jungkook comes in and when he sees his sulky baby and he feels so alarmed that he rushes to the bed.
"Hey, what's wrong, baby?"
Taehyung stares and realizes that Jungkook is there. He wanted to speak but he is too upset to do so. With that, he just shakes his head and hugs his boyfriend.
Jungkook can't help but be concerned because he can see tear tracks in Taehyung's eyes. He tried asking again, but the older refuses to say anything so he gives up. He decided to hold off what he wanted to tell or show to Taehyung so he could cuddle and comfort him. He doesn't have a clue on what made his baby so upset that he refuses to talk about it, but he certainly respects his boyfriend and did what he could to make the older feel lighter and better.
It took about half an hour when Taehyung's sobs subsided and Jungkook sees a pout forming on those plump lips. With that, Jungkook kisses them. When Taehyung kisses back, he decided that he can maybe finally ask what went on.
"Care to tell me what's going on, baby?"
Taehyung pouts even more while (cutely)glaring at Jungkook and shook his head. "Nothing," he mumbles in reply.
But of course, Jungkook wants none of that. "Baby, you wouldn't be crying if that is nothing, okay? I'm your boyfriend and I can easily tell if something's wrong." He holds Taehyung closer, drawing soothing circles on the older's back. "Please tell me?" he asks, his voice laced with care and concern.
Taehyung's eyes softened at Jungkook's words. He can feel the concern and the very sincerity of the younger's words. He knows he can no longer lie. With that, he decided to tell his boyfriend what is bothering him.
"Kookie.. Do.. I.. You've been hanging out a lot with Seokjin hyung. And.. I'm getting.. I'm getting really jealous." He grips on Jungkook's shirt firmly and tears start welling up in his eyes again and another pout is forming on his lips. "I.. I feel like you're slowly drifting.. drifting away from me." He trembles at his own words. Insecurity is slowly creeping up on him. "You're trying new things with him than with me. Are you getting tired of me, Kookie?"
If anything, Taehyung hates this feeling so much. People often think that he is confident when in reality, it is easier for him to feel insecure, especially when it comes to Jungkook and their relationship. He trusts Jungkook so much, but when insecurities hit him, there's nothing much he could do. And he hates it. He hates the idea of losing Jungkook. Or maybe even the way the younger looks at him or looks up at what he does, especially since Jungkook tends to look up to their hyungs(don't tell anyone but when Jungkook doesn't shut up about how amazed he is with their hyungs he tends to get jealous). And the way Jungkook has been looking at their Seokjin hyung lately hurts his heart. He knows he shouldn't be so jealous since Seokjin is their hyung, but he really couldn't help it.
Taehyung sniffs once again, his grip on Jungkook's shirt is even firmer.
Jungkook, on the other hand, is internally in a state of panic. He had no idea that his baby has been feeling this way lately.
Sure, he has been hanging out with their Seokjin hyung, but it's only because he needs the older's help. He frowns at the questions and words that Taehyung has thrown at him. And he really hates when his baby is like this, scared and insecured. Maybe he should finally come clean to ease the older's worries.
With that, Jungkook holds Taehyung's curled fist and pulls him to a hug and gives his forehead a kiss. "Tae baby, I will never get tired of you. You of all people, should know that. It's just that.." Jungkook lets out a nervous sigh. "I've been wanting to do something different for you."
This time, Taehyung looks at him, his eyes blinking with curiosity. "Huh?"
Jungkook chuckles. "Come on, let's get up and go to the kitchen right now so that I can show you."
With that, Jungkook pulls himself and Taehyung up and off the bed and went to the kitchen with their hands entwined. When they get into the kitchen, Taehyung gasps at what he sees.
On the kitchen island stands two candelabras with lit candles on them, a box of strawberry juice(because they can't and don't really like drinking; they can't drink alcohol well for shit), two empty glasses with some ice in them, and two plates.
Taehyung lets go of Jungkook's hand to rush to the island and he gasps even more. He sees a pasta dish and some chopped breaded chicken is on each plate.
"W-who..? Did.. did you c-cook this, Kookie?" he asks his boyfriend, who rubs his nape and chuckles nervously.
"Ah, yeah. I.. I really wanted to surprise you so uhm.. so I asked for Jinnie hyung's help. He said I should cook something for you, something other than, you know, my glazed goguma." He chuckles nervously. "He's been giving me some cooking lessons. So yeah, that's the main reason we've been hanging out a lot lately."
He takes a tall chair and motions for Taehyung to sit on it. After that, he goes to the other side. "I told him to help me perfect a couple of dishes so that I can cook them for you whenever we wanna. I.. I tried my best to do all these on my own. It's uhm.. difficult. B-but.. can you try them? I.. I'd like to know what you think." Jungkook stares at his boyfriend, who is staring back at him in awe.
"Uh.. yeah." Taehyung tries his best to process all the things that Jungkook has just told him. He is in awe. He can't believe his boyfriend went to a certain extent just to please him. "I.. sure.."
He takes the fork and samples some strands of the pasta(a pesto one) dish and wow. "Wow."
"I-is that a good thing o-or-"
Taehyung savours the pasta and smiles at Jungkook, who is looking at him nervously.
"S-say something baby," Jungkook pleads nervously. He really wants to know if Taehyung really liked the dishes he made earlier(with Seokjin's help) for him.
"Kookie. I.. I love this. I love this! OMG?"
Jungkook gasps and then he smiles. "You like it?" he asks and Taehyung nods.
"So.. I was jealous for nothing, huh?" The couple chuckles at that. "But wow Kookie. I can't believe you went on and did this for me."
Jungkook smiles in content. He feels so happy and proud. "I told you, I wanted to do something different. And special."
Taehyung blushes and smiles. "I surely have the sweetest boyfriend on earth!"
Jungkook smiles at the compliment. "Thank you. I'm really glad you liked it. I should thank Seokjin hyung for this one."
Taehyung nods. "I should too. Because he made my boyfriend a million times sexier with all the cooking lessons. But also.."
"Also what?" Jeon asks.
"I really miss you Kookie. You use to devote 3/4 of your day with me. But now-"
Jungkook didn't let Taehyung finish his sentence. He could sense the insecurity again and he doesn't like it when his boyfriend is having an insecurity episode. He grabs Taehyung's hand and kisses it.
"Baby, I assure you, that will be the last of it. For now."
Taehyung's eyebrows furrowed. "Huh?"
Jungkook chuckles again at Taehyung because he is pouting again. And being very, very cute. "Baby, don't be like that. You know I love you, right? I won't ever get tired of you. And there's no way I would want to spend my time or give my love to another person, okay? I love you and only you. Don't ever doubt that, please?"
And with that, Taehyung smiles and nods. "Okay, Kookie. I'll.. I'll try my best not to," he replies. "And thank you so much for this sweet surprise. I.. I didn't expect you to do this, to be honest."
"Anything for you, love."
The couple shares a kiss. They smile at each other sweetly before proceeding to eat their very special dinner.
"I love you, Kim Taehyung. My baby."
"I love you too, Jeon Jungkook."
And somewhere outside the kitchen, a guy smiles, very happy that he made his dongsaengs, the baby couple, very happy.
"I guess my work here is done. Enjoy it, kids. You deserve it."
And with that, said guy walks his way to his room.
