Late Night Cravings - Jungkook

Summary:

Imagine! having a child with Jungkook

Work Text:

The bed sheets rustled slightly as you moved from side to side, trying to get comfortable. A light breeze came through the open curtains, the soft sounds of the night drifting through, but they did nothing to calm your body into sleep. Groaning, you finally gave up and threw aside the covers, not bothering to be gentle since you knew your husband had never come to bed. You struggled to get up, using the bedpost for leverage, your swollen belly doing its best to get in your way. You cursed your growing child and its needs as you finally stood. Seriously, you were getting tired of these intense food cravings and needing to pee every 20 minutes and never being able to be comfortable when sitting or laying down. Sighing, you rubbed a hand over your stomach, a small smile flitting across your face despite your annoyance. Heaving another sigh, you left your room in search of the kitchen. Some spicy buffalo chicken wing leftovers were calling your name.

You moved through the dark house easily, not bothering to turn on any lights. After a couple months of needing to get up multiple times at night for the bathroom and food, you had gotten pretty good at navigating in the dark. Not that you couldn’t just turn on a light- your husband didn’t sleep much, or if he did it was at odd hours, but you liked the dark too.

Soft sounds from the kitchen reached you as you moved through the house. Turning the corner, the broad back of your husband leaning into the fridge brought a smile to your face. You knew you should berate him for not grabbing sleep while he can (there were two separate interviews scheduled tomorrow and a photo shoot for a magazine), but you were happy to spend any time with him that you could. Hormones were making you a little needy recently, though your husband was happy to comply with your need for cuddles as much as possible.

You called out to him. “Jungkookie, what are you still doing up? You shouldn’t be eating this la-“

Jungkook turned around, his hand in the container that held your leftover chicken wings, a bit of a wing sticking out of his mouth.

You froze, mouth falling open slightly. “Did you… are you eating my chicken? Jeon Jungkook….”

His chewing slowed at the warning tone in your voice, but he didn’t retract his hand from the container. You took a step towards him and he tensed, chewing stopped. The two of you stared at each other for a moment…. A heartbeat…. The ticking of the clock in the living room sounded…Once, twice, three times…

Jungkook shoved the last chicken wing in his mouth, spinning around your body as he leapt over the kitchen counter. You let out a screech and grabbed at him, but the nimble idol was too fast for you. You stepped around the kitchen counter and glared at him as he jumped up on the couch, crouching down and cradling the empty container to his chest, eyes sparkling in a mischievous glint. You stared at his throat as he swallowed the last of the wing, glare intensifying.

“If I didn’t know any better I’d say you were staring at my throat and thinking about choking me, babe.”

“Now why would I do that, darling?” You spat the last word, a pout beginning to form on your face. Jungkook chuckled, a childlike sound that sent warmth through your heart regardless of your anger. He set the container on the table and came over to you, hands lightly gripping your waist and drawing you towards him. You continued to pout, ignoring his lips as they sought yours.

“Baaaabe, don’t be like that!”

“You ate my food.”

“Are you seriously going to be upset that I ate those? There’s more food in the fridge! Go eat something else.”

Your head whipped around, angry eyes meeting his. “I wanted the chicken! They were spicy; you know how much I’ve been craving spicy lately! How much your child has been craving spicy…”

Jungkook’s gaze softened at your words, mouth forming a little ‘o’ in realization. He sighed and jutted out his lip in a puppy dog pout. Leaning down slightly to look you more directly in the eye, he gently rubbed your sides with his thumbs. “I’m sorry. I’ll go get you some more, ok? Don’t be mad at me.”

You sighed, anger starting to dissipate at the feeling of his hands massaging your hips. You turned your head to met his eyes, wide and staring intently at you.

Jungkook held his breath- he was never quite sure how you’d react to things these days. It was yours and his first kid, and though his hyungs had given him a lot of advice and told him what to expect from you during the pregnancy, every day was still an adventure. Last week he had spilled some grape juice on the carpet, and, even though he had managed to get it out with Hoseok’s help, you had cried over it for nearly an hour. He blinked slowly at you, praying on his aegyo to melt away your anger. Finally, finally, he was rewarded with a sigh as you uncrossed your arms and wrapped them around his middle.

“I want the extra spicy wings from that restaurant in Mapo. And don’t you dare just go to some convenience store for them, I’ll know the difference.”

Jungkook laughed, relieved to have bypassed your anger (an angry wife is never a fun time) and nodded. “I will go tomorrow as soon as they’re open, I swear.” You smiled up at him, pressing yourself to him as much as your belly would allow. He gently nuzzled your cheek with his. “In the meantime, if you’re still hungry, there are some wasabi flavored chips in the cupboard…”

You stilled a moment before pulling back to look up at him. “…wasabi?”

He nodded, grinning. You laughed and grinned back, letting him go and waddling running to the kitchen. Jungkook let out a bark of laughter at your eager run before following after you.

“Don’t eat all of them, save some for me!”

“Touch my chips and I WILL bite you Jeon Jungkook!”
