Summary:

Jeongguk thought Holly hated him. He didn't know that the dog would help him find the most beautiful man he's ever seen.

Work Text:

Jeongguk was squinting hard, trying to see what was currently displayed on the screen of his cellphone. What was making this simple task difficult for him was the blinding sun of summer as well as a dog pulling on the leash in his hand, often and quite constantly. The poor boy, or rather a young man, couldn't focus well enough.

„Holly, calm down!” he snapped, looking up from his phone, thinking that this time the dog would listen. He was met with no change in behaviour; the poodle didn't even pay attention to him, trying hard to get away. The brunette groaned, having a sudden urge to smash his phone against his head.

Holly is such a good dog, Yoongi said. He's well trained and rather calm, he assured. Will be no bother at all.

A complete bull, if you ask Jeongguk about it.

Holly was a charming dog, he really was. A cute, kind of small animal, with shining eyes and soft fur. The problem was the fact that this poodle ha developed a rather huge distaste towards Jeongguk. No one knew where it came from, but Holly truly despised the guy. Didn't like treats from him, barked upon seeing him, once even peed into his shoes when the man left them while visiting his owner. Jeongguk usually left his hyung's house with at least one bite mark, either on his leg, finger or arm.

Everyone else loved the dog dearly as he let them rub his belly, scratch his ears, or even let them put him on their lap and then proceeded to fall asleep on the spot. But, as the unlucky guy he was, Jeongguk lived the closest to Yoongi's house, so when the older had to leave for work out of blue he was the one who would get the call to come to water the plants and look after the adorable little monster.

Yoongi didn't understand Jeongguk's problem with Holly. No one did, really. So he had to clench his teeth, say "Fine" and come babysit the dog with no words of protest.

Currently Holly was trying his best to set himself free of Jeongguk's reign over him by jerking forward and growling quietly from time to time as the poor guy struggled to read the list of groceries he had to buy today. He wanted to take this ten minute walk from the house to get his chores done but it seemed like everything was against him. The constant pulling on his hand holding the leash was no help, neither was the leash itself as it circled and tightened around Jeongguk's legs, slowly unabling him from taking any more steps. There were few people around, all looking at the scene with either pity or amusement painted on their faces. One little girl was even giggling.

When Holly got back to the brunette and started sniffing his leg in a familiar, predicting-no-good way, Jeongguk deemed it was enough.

"Holly, sit!" he exclaimed loudly, scowling at the dog who was just about to open its mouth and sink its teeth onto the young man's ankle. The brunette scoffed, hiding his phone in his pocket and crouching down to untangle the leash when he heard a rather loud giggle. Confused, Jeongguk looked up and immediately had to squint.

The sun was the other way, but the guy in front of his eye was surely glowing.

Everything on him, be it the slope of his delicate nose, the barely-there freckles, the full lips, soft lilac hair or glistening eyes, just screamed attraction to Jeongguk. His outfit didn't help, either: he was wearing a loose beige shirt, hanging off his shoulders a bit and thus showing off his glorious collarbones, paired up with shorts – wait, were they high waisted? - that accented his long legs.

He looked like a walking dream, and smiled like one, too.

"Sorry," he giggled again, his deep voice once again surprising Jeongguk "It just- it sounded like you just said 'holy shit' with a lisp at your dog and uh, that's so dumb, I shouldn't be laughing at something like this, I swear I'm an adult..."

Jeongguk closed his mouth, not really realising he's had it open until this moment. Did he drool a little? Hopefully not. He stood up, stepping out of the leash as Holly was suddenly sat quietly and observing everything.

"It's, uh-" he started, stuttering like the loser he was "The dog's name's Holly, actually. I swear I didn't curse. I know there are kids around."

He coughed, trying to mask his sudden awkwardness. (Who was he kidding, he's always been awkward, especially when rendered speechless by pretty boys).

The angel on earth smiled brighter, his eyes flickering to the dog by Jeongguk's legs.

"Oh, so this adorable creature is a she? What a princess!" he gushed, bending down to pet Holly's head. Jeongguk bit his lip, trying his best to focus on the guy's face instead of... elsewhere.

"Actually, it's a he." he corrected, reaching up to scratch his neck. The lilac haired man looked up at him at the words, his eyebrows raising slowly.

"A female name for a male dog?" he asked, a small smile appearing on his gorgeous face "Breaking gender stereotypes a little, aren't we?" he grinned, and when he was met with no response from Jeongguk (although the brunette was dying a little inside with each smile), he added: "I like that."

Jeongguk blanched, his eyes widening a little.

"Uh, thanks?" he mumbled finally, trying his best to make his blood go somewhere else, other than his cheeks.

The stunning stranger showed off his teeth (Jeongguk swooned a little) and stood up, pulling the hem of his shirt lower as it rode up with his movements.

"I have a dog as well, you know, his name is Soonshim and he's the dearest" he sighed, his hand wandering up to stay on his chest, as if remembering his dog made him emotional and nostalgic. Jeongguk couldn't really relate. "We moved here quite recently and so far he's not taking it well. There aren't many dogs around and as much as I love him, I can't really provide him with a friend he'd feel the most comfortable with. So he stays home all the time, because walks make him depressed, plus children are slightly scared of him" he pouted, lowering his head and looking at Jeongguk's through his long eyelashes, making the brunette want to write songs and poems about how cute the sight was.

However, there was a cue, and he decided to take it.

"We can meet for dates," he started, then quickly corrected himself while trying not to blush any harder. "As in, we can set our dogs up for like, doggy dates? So they can become friends and, yeah." he breathed out, fighting the urge to bite his lip as he studied the gorgeous guy's expression.

Reading him wasn't that hard. He immediately lit up, a huge smile painting itself on his face.

"Really? Would you and mister Holly over there accompany us? It would mean a lot, you know" he babbled excitedly, one hand shooting forward to grab Jeongguk by his arm. (He didn't flex at the sudden contact, thank you very much) (Well, maybe a little)

"That's not a problem, honestly" Jeongguk responded, not even a part of his brain realising that technically Holly wasn't even his "We would help both the dogs, Soonshim to find a friend and Holly to stop being a pain in the ass." he breathed, his sight switching onto the dog, who was mocking him enough to wiggle his tail a little.

"Oh, but Holly seems like such a sweetheart!" Lies. "Soonshim is a handful, but I'm pretty sure they will get along. They're both incredibly cute."

So are you, Jeongguk thought .

"Then, we're set?" he asked, smiling a little "Are you going to do my dog the honor of meeting your dog, mister Soonshim owner?"

The lilac haired guy giggled – fucking again – and nodded.

"It's Taehyung, by the way" the stranger – Taehyung – said, his hand reaching out to squeeze Jeongguk's. "Kim Taehyung."

"Jeon Jeongguk" the brunette responded, his palm lingering maybe a bit longer than necessary in other's hold "When do you have time?"

"The day after tomorrow works for you?" Taehyung asked, hand sweeping through his bangs to get them off his eyes. Even the beads of sweat on his hairline were so damn attractive to Jeongguk, holy shit. "Around three in the afternoon? So it's not the hottest, but also enough time for the dogs to play around. I was thinking about the park nearby? It allows dogs inside." he continued, accompanied by brunette's nods and hums of agreement.

"Sure, we'll be there, won't we, Holly?" Jeongguk asked, looking at the poodle by his legs. The dog raised its head and looked at the man holding its leash, and Jeongguk could swear he saw pity in its small black eyes. Taehyung chuckled lightly, seemingly already enamored with Holly.

Now Jeongguk was determined to make Taehyung enamored with him, too.

"Weren't you always saying that Holly hates your guts?"

Jeongguk pouted, his hands playing with Holly's ears as he blinked at Yoongi. The dog quickly recovered from the initial shock of being suddenly petted nicely by the brunette and started to nip his fingers a bit hard. The younger man didn't flinch, as he was trying his best to be convincing.

"Yeah, that's why I should spend more time with him, don't you think?" he explained, not even a hint of it all being a lie in his voice. "Since I have to look after him so often, I guess it's time he got used to me."

Yoongi squinted, not really sure if he should agree to the offer Jeongguk gave him. Yes, he trusted his dongsaeng enough to leave his dog with him, but why the sudden change of heart? Something seemed fishy about it, he just couldn't put a finger on what exactly could be happening.

Jeongguk pouted harder, trying to take his fingers back without hurting himself too much on Holly's teeth.

"Come on, hyung. It's not like Holly's favorite human will change because of me taking him on a few walks, is it?" he grinned, ignoring the small growl coming from the poodle which was still not letting go of his hand. "You'll still be his beloved owner. I just want us to get along."

Yoongi sighed, shaking his head a little.

"Fine." he said finally, making Jeongguk raise his fist in victory. "I do want you two to get along, too. Just, don't exhaust him too much or he'll barf, okay?"

"Of course, hyung" Jeongguk nodded enthusiastically, grinning like a madman. "I'll be as careful as usual, promise."

"Holly!" Jeongguk almost straight up shrieked, feeling as if his arm was about to be pulled out.

He knew Holly liked the park that was placed a short walk away from Yoongi's house. He just wasn't aware how bonkers the dog could get, or how persistent and surprisingly strong the petite beast was.

People once again were looking at him funny, seeing as he was being dragged forward by a rather small dog. Jeongguk couldn't help it though, despite all of his struggles, and trust me, he struggled hard. Holly was just set on his goal and wouldn't listen.

When a small pond appeared in his line of view, Jeongguk started to panic a little. The dog was crazy enough to drag him into it, and he wasn't going to allow that.

"Alright, cut it off!" he yelled, pulling at the leash and praying to whatever God there was that it wasn't hurting the animal. Holly was getting closer and closer to the water, and Jeongguk felt more and more petrified.

Suddenly, just at the line of steps going down towards the pond, Holly turned right and slowed down. Jeongguk stumbled a bit, his feet almost tripping off the highest step, but regained his balance quickly. He breathed out, feeling the panic slowly wave off him as a trickle of sweat ran down his spine. He even chuckled, looking at Holly with triumph in his eyes.

"You didn't get me this time, you little shit!" he exclaimed happily, pointing his finger at the dog. "I survived that one, you f-"

"WATCH OUT!"

Jeongguk didn't even get to turn towards the source of noise. The next second was a mix of a loud bark, someone's gasp and a solid body barrelling onto the brunette, which resulted with him losing his footing and tripping sideways, straight to the pond, with a loud splash.

When he resurfaced, coughing up water, Taehyung was standing at the steps, a sheepish look on his face as he scratched his neck, shifting on his feet.

"I am so, so, so sorry for Soonshim," the lilac haired boy sighed, pulling slightly on the leash leading to a huge white dog, heaving and wagging its tail. "He suddenly jerked forward and I let go, and the next thing I saw was him colliding with you and... yeah."

Jeongguk held his breath for a few seconds, trying to collect himself. After that he swam the few metres back to the steps and slowly got out, dripping wet, and sent Taehyung a small smile.

"It's okay, a little water never killed nobody" he assured, bending down to retreat Holly's leash; the dog was sat there peacefully, probably content with the turn of the events. Small demon at its finest. As Jeongguk was standing up, something in his view caught his attention.

"Nice piercing" he said before he stopped himself, suddenly freezing mid-way. He looked up at Taehyung, who was making a funny, rather amused face at him.

"Thanks?" he chuckled, looking down at his belly button and the little diamonds in it, glistening in the daylight as he shook slightly from laughter. To Jeongguk's dismay, he was wearing a black crop top today, so his stomach muscles were out in the view to tantalize the poor brunette. "I lost a bet with Kihyun-hyung and had to pierce it, so not really my choice."

"Really?" Jeongguk asked, finally standing up straight. "I like how your stomach looks with it."

Taehyung raised his eyebrows, surprised, and the tiniest hint of blush appeared on his cheeks. Although soon after that he smirked, one lip between his teeth.

"Thanks. I like your stomach as well" he responded, clearly fighting a chuckle.

Jeongguk, confused, looked down and realised that his white t-shirt became completely see-through due to being drenched in water, making his long hours at gym pretty much all out for everyone to see. Once again in the presence of Taehyung the brunette blanched, his mouth gaping like a fish. His companion chuckled cheerily at that, reaching out to pat his shoulder in a reassuring way.

"Come on. Let's go to the benches, you'll dry off better in the sun" he said, pulling lightly on the leash to get his dog's attention. Soonshim raised his head from where he was sniffing Holly and looked at his owner, his tail beginning to wag again and tap against the pavement.

"Sure, let's go" Jeongguk responded, hoping that Holly or Soonshim won't try to do any more tricks.

They began meeting up after their first "date". A few weeks in the two of them have seen each other more times than Jeongguk hoped for. The dogs would play with each other (or rather Soonshim played around and Holly allowed to be played with) as the two men were more focused on one another, although neither would admit it.

Well, Jeongguk would. If he thought Taehyung got him whipped even with his looks alone, he was pretty much sold for the guy by now. His bubbly personality, cute laughter and care for all living beings made the younger wonder. He felt like a sinner who was destined to meet this pure human being to find the right path and become better. Taehyung was his salvation, pretty much. He was soft, delicate and so unbelievably precious.

(Jeongguk was dead serious about singing ballads about this guy, okay.)

However, not everything was going as smoothly as the brunette would like it to be. It's been a month already and they were still on friendly terms, feeling good in each other's company, cracking jokes left and right and meeting up ever so often. It was a lot, but Jeongguk still craved for more. He wanted to touch, to kiss, to caress, run his fingers through Taehyung's soft hair, trace lines on his back, nuzzle against his long neck. He's made some attempts, alright. He’s tried. He's made some moves, few steps forward, but it always ended with the older taking a few steps back.

Jeongguk flirted. Taehyung remained oblivious.

Jeongguk complimented his outfits. Taehyung thanked him and changed the topic.

Jeongguk gave hints at him liking boys, Taehyung didn't seem to notice.

Jeongguk offered meeting without dogs, Taehyung always had an excuse.

The brunette felt as if he was chasing smoke, trying to catch it with his bare hands and failing miserably. He didn't want to pressure Taehyung into anything, but at the same time he couldn't get enough of the man and wanted to have him close, closer, closest. The lilac haired man slipped from his grasp, yet agreed to more and more doggy dates, as if he wasn't keeping the younger at a distance. Jeongguk didn't know what to think.

This afternoon was pretty chilly for a summer. Some sort of festival was happening in the park (their park, as Jeongguk liked to call it); a stage was set, there were big slides and assembled carousels as well as those bouncy castles that made parents worry about their children being knocked out by others. Jeongguk was waiting by the food tents, sat at one of those long benches hooded by the umbrellas advertising a beer brand. Holly was watching intensely a guy who was barbecuing near them, the smell of sausages and meat mixing with the scent coming from the beer bottle the brunette was currently nursing.

Yoongi has stopped asking each time Jeongguk came by and proposed to take Holly for a walk. It still seemed suspicious, yes, but the older decided to take advantage of the newfound fondness towards his dog and opted to spend more time with his boyfriend. Alone.

How much would Jeongguk give to be in a position like that.

Taehyung and Soonshim appeared right on time, as they always did. The man's hair, the color of which was slowly fading out, was ruffled slightly due to the light breeze. He was wearing yet another crop top, grey with a logo this time, along with a black choker and black jeans with holes on knees.

In other words, he looked as stunning as usual.

Jeongguk sent him a smile, feeling a bit tired. It seemed as if his determination to win this guy over was washing over, much to his chagrin. He didn't want to feel hopeless and discouraged, but here he was, once again with his heart beating faster, but his hands no longer itching to reach out towards the boy of his dreams.

"Hey hyung," he spoke up, raising his hand holding a bottle. "Want a beer?"

"No, thank you." Taehyung responded quietly, his smile tight and even sad, in a way. Jeongguk moved over so they could sit next to each other.

The older began talking about his job, as usual. The routine imprinted in the brunette's head like a mantra. Taehyung would talk about his job, Jeongguk would do the same with occasional bits and pieces about his studies, then they both would fall silent until one of them thought of a good topic to have a discussion over, be it Star Wars or american politics. It didn't use to be like that, but they eased into this repetitive routine nonetheless. As boring and somewhat awkward as it might have seemed, Jeongguk never wanted it to stop.

During Taehyung's monologue about one of the newest cds he recently bought, a little girl, maybe four or five years old walked up to them. She looked at the duo with big doe eyes, fidgeting a little as she tried to get her words out. Both men waited patiently in silence, trying to make it easier for her to talk as she obviously wanted something.

"Can I pet your dog?" she finally asked, one of her small fingers pointing out towards Soonshim. The dog was currently lying down next to the bench, its head on its paws as it watched people walk around, oddly quiet for its standards.

Taehyung's face almost split in half from the force of his smile.

"Why, of course!" he assured, standing up to clear the path for the girl. "He doesn't bite, no worries! And he loves getting new friends!"

The kid looked at him unsure, but moved towards Soonshim anyway. She kneeled down and reached out after a short hesitation, and then smiled brightly with glee. The longer she was caressing the soft fur, the more she seemed to relax, no longer feeling uneasy around the dog. After a while Soonshim turned over to lay on his back, exposing his stomach and sticking out his tongue as he looked expectantly at the newest victim of his charms. The girl giggled.

"So cute!" she gushed, stroking Soonshim's belly. "Does he fetch?"

"He does!" Taehyung nodded excitedly, clasping his hands in front of his face as fondness spread over his face. Jeongguk felt the need to cup his face and pepper it with kisses, but knew better than that.

The little girl gasped, and then did that again when she noticed Holly sitting quietly on the other side of Soonshim.

"Another doggo!" she exclaimed, making the two men flinch a little out os surprise. "I love doggos!"

"Me too, darling" Jeongguk chuckled, looking at Yoongi's poodle and feeling as if the dog was giving him a stink eye. So much hatred in such a small body.

"Can i take them for a walk?" the girl asked, once again turning to them with big, pleading eyes. Jeongguk bit his lip, not wanting to burst her bubble, as Taehyung smiled apologetically.

"I'm sorry, sweetie, but you see, Soonshim is a rather big dog, and he needs to be walked by adults only. You're still a little princess, aren't you?"

The girl pouted, but after a moment she smiled, showing off her missing teeth.

"What if I bring my mommy with me? She can take care of the big doggo, I can take care of the small?" she suggested, playing with the hem of her shirt. Taehyung pursed his lips, not really convinced, but the girl then grabbed his panted leg and pulled lightly, a pout forming on her face. "Please? Pretty please? We'll be careful! 'Shim and the Small will be safe with us!"

"Bring your mom here and then we'll see, okay?" the older man finally sighed, too weak to the girl's cuteness to resist her. She squealed happily and ran off, leaving the two men quite amused.

Soon after that she returned with a woman in her forties, who also promised that they'll be careful with the dogs, as her daughter loves animals and is generally gentle with them. Both Taehyung and Jeongguk couldn't say no, and few moments later they watched the dogs leave, Soonshim with a bounce in his step and Holly with the usual confidence.

Thus, the two men were left alone.

Jeongguk could have pinpointed the exact moment Taehyung realised that he's lost his card that he pulled out every time the younger has tried something even remotely resembling flirting. The younger did that many times, yes, but never crossed a line and always backed up if he sensed the older getting uncomfortable.

Jeongguk coughed, bringing the beer bottle to his mouth.

"So, Soonshim's accommodating nicely, after all," he started, a hint of smile on his lips, as he really grew fond of the overexcited dog. "Maybe kids will stop being scared of him after they see someone their age playing with him."

"Yeah, I sure hope so" Taehyung responded with a sigh, fitting his hands between his thighs.

The younger looked at him for a few seconds, words forming on his tongue, before saying.

"And you? Think you've found your place here?"

The older man turned his face to him, his lips parting slightly as he thought of his response.

"I... I think I did, yeah." he said quietly, looking down, his eyelashes casting long shadows on his cheekbones. "I did feel very welcomed from the very beginning. I do feel like I belong in here, so... yeah."

The itching in Jeongguk's hands returned. He felt it under his skin, spreading over from his torso to the tips of his fingers, burning him from inside.

The yearning to touch.

The longing to feel Taehyung's skin against his.

Before he even realised what was happening, his hand found its way onto the other's cheek. He blinked a couple of times, feeling as he was stepping over a line, wanted to take his hand back and pretend it never happened-

But Taehyung leaned into his touch, sighing quietly, the look on his face unreadable.

Jeongguk just wanted him to smile again, like he did at the beginning.

"Taehyung..." he whispered, leaning in a little, his hand trying to pull the older's face a bit higher, to meet him midway...

"Jeongguk, I c-can't do this."

The brunette stopped. Leaning in, moving in general, breathing in general. He slowly retrieved his hand, but kept the distance between them small.

"Why?" he finally choked out, looking down, the same way as Taehyung. He somehow felt what was possibly coming, but still needed to hear it out loud.

"Because..." the older man's breath stuttered "I can't do that to Yoongi."

Wait, what?

"Yoongi?" Jeongguk asked, frowning. Did he miss something?

"I know, I've been selfish this entire time," Taehyung chuckled bitterly, shaking his head a little "Meeting with you, pretending as if what's happening was okay. I know you flirted with me, Guk-ah. Each time. And I let you, thinking that if I wasn't responding, it wouldn't be that horrible of a move. It was wrong all along and yet I kept meeting up with you, playing this fairy tale, because..."

Taehyung sighed, finally looking up. Sadness swam with his eyes, but he was smiling in a fond way. "You're so damn irresistible, you know? I just- just can't seem to get enough of you. You made me feel special, even if I was never meant to be special to you. I-I'm really sorry. For myself, too. For being dumb and believing it wouldn't end up like this."

The brunette opened his mouth and then closed it. He made a small sound in the back of his throat, as he tried not to scream in frustration over not being able to help Taehyung to get out of this bad mood.

"Hyung, what do you mean?" he asked desperately, his hands waving around as he couldn't control them suddenly. "Why it wasn't okay? Why a fairy tale? What do you mean, you're not meant for me? 'Cause I thought- I thought-"

"You can't do that to Yoongi-hyung, Guk" Taehyung whispered, slowly moving away "You guys are in love, aren't you?"

Hold the heck up, what?

"What?!" Jeongguk asked, a bit too loudly, gaining them a few irritated looks from a bench next to theirs. "Me and Yoongi-hyung? Since when?"

Now it was Taehyung's turn to frown. He turned his head slightly, as if waiting for Jeongguk to explain it himself. "You guys live together, don't you?"

"No, I take a bus here."

"But you take his dog for walks?"

Oh, there it went. The little detail Jeongguk failed to remember about.

"I, uhm. Yeah, I do."

"And you do that often?"

"I wanted to get to see you, okay?"

Taehyung's eyebrows shot up as he blinked a couple of times, clearly surprised with this turn of events.

"But-"

"I basically borrowed Holly so we could meet for the doggy dates, fine?" Jeongguk groaned, having a sudden urge to scratch at his face for no apparent reason other than to hide from this humilation. But inside, he was screaming from relief of coming clean. "When I saw you fo the first time, I walked him 'cause Yoongi-hyung asked me to do it, but all the other occasions? I asked if I could take Holly with me just so I could see you. Especially since you didn't want to meet without the dogs." he ended bitterly before he could bite his tongue.

"I didn't want the dog dates turn into normal dates" Taehyung blushed, once again looking anywhere but at the younger's face. "It wouldn't be fair considering you're in a relationship."

"I'm not in a relationship!"

"I saw Yoongi-hyung walking Holly soon after I met you! The dog recognized me so I came over and made a small talk. I asked if Holly was his since I saw someone else walking him and he looked so fond and in awe? It seemed to fit together-"

"He was talking about his dog! Of course he'd get all mushy and soft. He loves the darn beast, not me!" Jeongguk almost wailed, feeling his hands drop at his sides helplessly.

Taehyung looked up at him, confusion painting his features.

"So you and Yoongi aren't a thing?"

"And never were."

"This whole time, you weren't together?"

"Not even thought about this, hyung."

Taehyung straightened up, his brows still furrowed as a sort of madness started to flicker in his eyes.

"So this entire time..." he spat out, moving closer to Jeongguk to stab his finger at his chest "If you didn't lie about being Holly's owner, we could've been happily together? I could've been kissing you, touching you all I want? We could've..."

"Now we can."

Both men froze, surprised at Jeongguk's words. A blush started to appear on their faces, as they realised how close they got.

Finally, Taehyung let out a shuddering breath.

"Guk, can I-"

"Yes, please."

The older grabbed Jeongguk's bottle and raised it to his lips, downing a few gulps.

"Hyung, the fuck? I thought you were going to kiss me." the brunette whined, his hands moving towards Taehyung's hips as he shuffled closer. The older smiled sheepishly an put the bottle on the bench behind him.

"Sorry, I panicked. Still not exactly grasping how it went like this. You have any idea how many times I just wanted to smash my mouth against yours?"

Jeongguk's gaze flickered down and then returned to Taehyung's shining eyes.

"Oh, I think I know the feeling."

And he closed the distance between them, feeling the older's arms encircle his neck as he slotted their mouths together.

Fucking finally.

Taehyung's lithe body shuddered against his as Jeongguk pressed even closer, moving their lips together. He was finally getting what he dreamt of, and he wanted to make the most of it.

“Get a room, you horny assfucks!”

Well, maybe not in the current moment.

But him and Taehyung, they had time. They didn't need to rush anything, as now everything was out in the open between them, they could cherish each other in their own pace.

(That's why few hours later they found themselves tangled in bed sheets, breathy moans and gasps filling out the otherwise quiet room.

Their own tempo indeed.)

A week later

Soonshim was squealing and looking at Taehyung with pleading eyes as the man looked through his wardrobe.

“Sorry, Soonshimmie. This time it’s only me and Guk and you know it.” he sighed, looking at two t-shirts he held in his hands. The dog barked and wailed again, somehow not convinced. “Keep doing that and I’ll think you like Jeongguk over me! You’ve seen Holly today, not like you’re missing him already.”

Soonshim lied down, resting his head on his front paws and doing the best puppy eyes he could muster.

Taehyung groaned.

With the slightly rocky start, he felt like he needed to make everything right from now on. Fact, it was Jeongguk who caused this whole push and pull situation, but the older still felt bad and regretted a full month of feeling like he was breaking someone’s home apart.

He wanted them to be as perfect as possible now.

Funny thing, how he fell in love with a guy that was supposed to be taken and out of his reach. Who could have blamed him though, with Jeongguk’s gentle smile, body to kill for, frequent spacing out, sheer interest in everything Taehyung could show him. He was the sweetest, and Taehyung fell ass first.

The first month might have been not the greatest, but everything that was about to come was going to be just fine.

Seeing Jeongguk waiting for him outside with his bunny smile and crinkled eyes made Taehyung believe that all bad was already behind them.

Now it was time for them to be happy. Together.

With at least one dog for sure.
