Stitch me up

Summary:

"I cut my finger too deep while cooking but I don't want to go to the hospital and you're the med student who lives in the apartment across from mine; why can't you just stitch it up?" AU

Work Text:

"Oops," Namjoon said when the knife slipped from its spot while he was cutting his vegetables for his dinner that night. Namjoon knew he was a bad cook and the God of destruction, but he never thought he'd manage to cut himself as bad as he did.

Trying not to get blood everywhere but failing miserably since he'd managed to cut himself quite badly, Namjoon tried to rinse the cut and but a band aid on it. But for some strange reason it just wouldn't stop bleeding and oh god, I've sliced nearly my whole finger open? It was obvious that the cut would need stitches, a simple ba said would vertically not do.

But Namjoon didn't want to go all the way to the hospital, he was starving and couldn't exactly drive down with his finger spewing blood everywhere. He was grabbing a tea towel when he remembered, across the hall from his apartment lived the attractive med student he sometimes bumped into in the elevator.

"Maybe I can just get him to stitch it up?" Namjoon mused as he wrapped his hand in the tea towel and left his tiny kitchen.

Namjoon didn't give himself time to back out of his decision as he crossed the hall quickly and knocked on his neighbours door three times. He heard a faint "Coming!" From inside before the door swung open, revealing the med student. "Oh, Namjoon?" He tilted his head in confusion, last time they'd actually seen his neighbour was last week when they were both running late for class because the building had a power cut and their alarms hadn't gone off. "What's up?"

Namjoon rubbed the back of his head, with his uncut hand, in embarrassment. "Hey Seokjin, I kinda cut my finger and was wondering if you could stitch it up for me?" He said, his cheeks turning red and an embarrassed smile on his lips. "Since you're a med student." He added.

Seokjin only looked even more confused before looking to Namjoons wrapped hand. "Surely you couldn't have cut it so bad you'd need stitches..." He trailed off as he noticed the amount of blood soaking the tea towel wrapped around Namjoons hand. "Come in." Seokjin moved from the door way and ushered the taller inside, a frown on his face.

The two were standing in Seokjins kitchen as the elder of the two rummaged through his medicine cabinet for things. "Okay, show me the cut." He said, gently taking Namjoons hand and unwrapping the cloth. The moment Seokjin removed the cloth blood gushed out, Namjoon looked almost fascinated while the elder grimaced. "Oh my gosh." He said, quickly putting pressure on the cut. "How on earth did you manage to cut yourself this badly?" Seokjin asked, obviously shocked.

"I was chopping vegetables." Namjoon admitted, a shy dimpled smile showing.

"Well, you definitely need stitches that's for sure, and doesn't it hurt?" Seokjin raised an eyebrow as he shuffled around his things. "You need to go to the hospital."

"I can feel a strange gushing feeling." Namjoon shrugged. "Can't you just stitch it up?" He asked.

Seokjin pursed his lips and frowned. "I really shouldn't." He said finally.

"Please, I'm starving and the sooner this gets stitched up the sooner I can eat." Namjoon practically pouted.

Seokjin sighed. "Fine," he relented and started searching his first aid cupboard for the things he needed. "You're just lucky I have the things to, and that I can't let someone go hungry."

The two were silent as Seokjin stitched Namjoons finger up. The blond was legitimately surprised it didn't hurt (probably because of the adrenaline in his veins and that Seokjin was taking up most of his mind and not his bleeding finger.) Seokjin did an amazing job with the stitching and it didn't take long for the wound to be cleaned, stitched and wrapped up tightly.

"There you go." Seokjin said as he put away his first aid stuff. "Now be sure to be careful, you don't want the stitches to break and for it to open up again. And do take some painkillers before the adrenaline wears off and you're suddenly in lots of pain." He smiled as Namjoon stared at his finger.

"Thanks heaps." He smiled brightly. "Now I can continue dinner." He said as he stood up.

"Will you be okay cooking with your hand like that?" Seokjin gestured to Namjoons wrapped finger and hand for good measure.

"Yeah?"

"You don't sound so sure." The elder raised an eyebrow.

"I'll be fine, I think." Namjoon tried to show a reassuring smile.

Seokjin sighed deeply. "How about I come over and help you? We can just have dinner together, I haven't eaten yet." He suggested.

Namjoons face visibly lit up. "Really? Neat. I owe you one." He said as they made their way to the front door.

"Take me out for lunch sometime next week or something." Seokjin winked as he opened the front door.

Namjoon felt his whole face get hot. "Yeah, sure thing."

"Oh my gosh! There's blood everywhere Namjoon!"

"Yeah, I didn't know what to do..."
