Work Text:

Jung Hoseok was a nervous wreck.

He has no idea what he did wrong, or what’s going to happen to him.

He’s sitting on a small couch outside his boss’ office, waiting for the secretary to inform him whether he could enter the room. Not long ago, Hoseok was told that the boss wanted to see him and his face immediately paled. He knows he shouldn’t be afraid to see his boss again, Hoseok has seen and talked to him a few times, he just felt like it was a different reason for his boss to call him this time around.

Sure, he might find his boss attractive and hot but that doesn’t mean that he doesn’t intimidate Hoseok. His boss hardly ever smiled and was often seen wearing black clothing.

What if he’s going to kill me?

Hoseok might be losing his mind right now trying to figure out what’s going to happen. After all, he is working for one of the biggest company in Korea and there are plenty of other better people applying for a job here. Hoseok has been working here for a long time, he can’t afford to get fired from his job, he’s going to have a tough time finding another job and-

“Jung Hoseok-ssi, Mr. Min will see you now.”

Hoseok’s head immediately snapped up from looking at the ground to see Park Jimin standing in front of him, flashing a small smile to reassure him it’s nothing bad. Hoseok gulped as he stood up and followed Jimin to the door of his boss office.

“It’s okay, nothing to worry about! It’s not like he’s going to eat you!” Jimin said as the corner of his eyes crinkled.

“Right – he’s not gonna eat me,” he said as the secretary opened the office door, “I wouldn’t bet on that.”

Hoseok stepped right into the office and felt a change in the surrounding, it wasn’t terrifying or intimidating like he expected it to be, and instead he found that it’s quite pleasing and comfortable. In the middle of the office sat Mr. Min with his head buried in paperwork, dressed nicely in a black suit. Hoseok took some time to look around the office; he found that his boss placed a few potted plants around the corners of the room. There was also a dark brown sofa set and a small coffee table at the side with few bookshelves here and there.

Hoseok carefully approached his boss, trying not to startle him.

“Uh, sajang-nim, you requested to see me?”

Hoseok does not fail to see the small Kumamon figurine at his desk and a photo of a dog, it makes the corners of his lips curl up.

“Ah, yes, Jung Hoseok, please take a seat.” He gestures towards the two chairs in front of his desk.

“The reason I called you is to… ask for your help. You’ve been working hard and I decided that I  should bring you along as a reward. It would also be a good exposure for you.”

Hoseok also doesn’t fail to notice how his boss’ black hair falls nicely on his forehead, and how he has beautiful and striking dark eyes.

“As you know, every year there is a special banquet held somewhere around the globe where special people get invited to. This year, I decided to bring you as my plus one.”

What Hoseok does fail to notice is that, he is in fact, totally smitten over his boss.

“W-wait, sajang-nim – what? Me? As your plus one? Really? But why?”

Mr. Min gave him a good look before sighing, “Yes, you, the one and only Jung Hoseok. I’m asking you to come along with me.”

“B-but why me? Why not Jimin-ssi? I-I mean I would love to go, but why?”

“Easy, it’s because you’ve been working hard and doing well in your job. Plus I also feel that you’re the right person to bring along, you have the charms and a great smile and know how to handle yourself in a crowd, so why not? It’s a great way to reward you. Unless you want me to change my mind?”

Hoseok felt his entire body going numb hearing that his boss complimented him, but he just couldn’t stop smiling at it.

Holy shit he’s asking me to be his plus one

“So Jung Hoseok, I’m asking you one last time, do you want to go to the banquet with me as my plus one?” he said as he stood up from his chair and extended his hand with one eyebrow raised.

Holy fucking shit he’s actually asking me to be his plus one

Hoseok looked at his boss for a few good moments before stumbling while standing up. He reaches his hand over to join them with Mr. Min’s hand before shaking it. “Y-yes! Of course I would love too! Thank you so much sajang-nim!”

Mr. Min let out a chuckle before letting go of his hand, “Alright, this year the banquet is held in New York, we’re leaving next week, don’t forget.”

The next time Hoseok saw his boss was at the airport. He was wearing a casual white t-shirt with black ripped jeans topped with a black cap and a mask on, standing at the check-in counter with his luggage. Hoseok had no idea his boss could look this good in a casual outfit and he definitely wasn’t prepared for it. He was honestly so gorgeous Hoseok could just drop dead on the floor at any moment. But instead, he ran over to his boss, waving his hand like crazy to let him know his presence.

“Sajang-nim! I’m here! Did you wait long? I’m sorry if you did, I didn’t mean to!” he quickly apologized, afraid to have made his boss angry for waiting too long.

All Mr. Min could do was let out a soft laughter at Hoseok antics, which made Hoseok flushed red to the tip of his ears. “It’s okay Hoseok, I didn’t wait long. Also, please do call me Yoongi when we’re not at work or any businesses.” and with that, Yoongi flashed one of his signature gummy smile and Hoseok could feel his heart threatening to fall out from his chest.

“Al-alright…Yoongi” he likes the way on how Yoongi’s name rolls on his tongue, he could totally get use to this amazing feeling.

Hoseok was also quick to noticed the slight blush on Yoongi, before he turned away from him, “Faster check-in, I’ll be waiting over there.” He said and made his way over the seating area.

Once Hoseok was done, they made their way through the immigration and to the plane, not forgetting to stop by Starbucks for Yoongi’s daily dose of coffee. Yoongi even bought him a cup of coffee – and his first-class plane ticket to New York and Hoseok could honestly, never be thankful enough.

“Yoongi, seriously, thank you so much for all this…” he mumbled softly while taking his seat next to Yoongi on the plane.

He’s really cute when he’s blushing

“S-shut up, I should be the one thanking you for coming with me.”

With that, Hoseok gave Yoongi his million-watt smile.

It was really late when they both arrived at the airport. When they both collected their luggage, Yoongi quickly dialed a number to get their ride while Hoseok was at his side yawning away.

“Our ride’s already here, lets go” Yoongi said as Hoseok follows him like a sleepy little puppy.

Hoseok did not expect their ride to the hotel to be a limousine.

“Yoongi…are you sure that’s our ride? It looks super expensive and I don’t think I’m ready for that.”

Yoongi let out a small chuckled and nodded “Yes, that’s our ride you idiot. Get in before you fall asleep on the street. I’m not going to carry you into the limo.”

As soon as Hoseok got into the limo, he couldn’t stop admiring the interior of the ride and the night scene of the Big Apple. “Fuck Yoongi, I’m so glad I agreed to come with you, this is the best thing I’ve seen my entire life. Seriously, thank you so much for this. I can’t put into words how grateful I am.”

However, what Hoseok doesn’t see, is that Yoongi is watching Hoseok fondly with a gentle smile slowly creeping up his face.

By the time they reached the hotel, Hoseok is beat and all he wanted to do is to jump into bed and go to sleep. He was trying hard not to doze off sitting on the hotel lobby’s couch while waiting for Yoongi to check-in. Which, eventually failed and he passed out.

Yoongi slowly woke Hoseok up with a gentle shake on his shoulder when he was done, telling him that they’re going up to their room now. He groggily got up and followed Yoongi to the elevator and to their floor, before looking around and questioning him. “Yoongi, where’s my room?”

Yoongi paused and looked at Hoseok, and Hoseok could clearly see the bags under his eyes.

And all Hoseok wants to do it to rub his thumb over his face to soothe it out.

Yoongi raised an eyebrow “You’ll be sharing a room with me, I already paid for your plane ticket and coffee, and I’m not gonna spend my money on another room.” He said while fiddling with his key card to enter the room, but with no venom on his words.

Hoseok bit his lip and looked at Yoongi, clearly showing that he wasn’t sure if this was okay, “Are you sure you don’t mind?”

Yoongi looked at Hoseok and let out a sigh before entering the room, “Yes, I don’t mind, if not why would I do it in the first place, idiot.”

Hoseok hesitated for a while before following Yoongi into the room. The moment he stepped into the room, he couldn’t stop gaping. The room was huge and dimly lit, you could clearly see the night lights of the city shining into the room through the huge glass frame overlooking the busy streets of New York. Towards the corner of the room lay a king sized bed with two bed stands at its side. At the front of the room was a huge flat screen TV accompanied with a black couch and a glass coffee table. Besides that, he was also overly excited to see a mini bar counter near the TV.

“Holy shit Yoongi, is this actually real? Am I dreaming? If this is a dream I never want to wake up – someone pinch me.”

Yoongi let out a little scoff at Hoseok, “Are you always this dramatic? Of course it’s real dumbass. Hurry up and go to sleep, you look tired as fuck.”

For a boss of a huge ass company, he does swear a lot

Hoseok gave him a little nod before heading over to the couch, deciding that he should just wash up and then unpack everything else in the morning.

“What the hell do you think you’re doing?”

He immediately snapped his head around to see Yoongi raising an eyebrow at him – Hoseok also realizes that Yoongi likes doing that.

God he looks so hot like that

“Uh, going to sleep?”

That came out more of a question than an answer

“Don’t sleep on the couch, share the bed with me, I don’t care. I just don’t want you to wake up in the morning with aches all over your body, okay?”

And that sounds more like an order than a choice

“A-alright Yoongi, thank you.” He said and possibly, gave Yoongi the warmest smile he has ever seen.

The first time, Hoseok was woken up by a bright stream of light slipping through a small gap between the curtains shining on his face. He slowly blinked open his eyes and stretched around a bit, only to find the other side of the bed to be empty. He sat upright and looked around, trying to find Yoongi when he heard water running from the bathroom.

He’s probably showering.

The second time, Hoseok was woken up again by a gentle pat on the shoulder. He let out a small little groan before slowly opening his eyes to see Yoongi looking straight at him with his soft and beautiful eyes.

“Hoseok, wake up, it’s time to get breakfast.”

Getting out of bed was not something Hoseok looked forward to every morning. He groggily sat up and watched Yoongi made his way to the couch before he walked towards the bathroom to freshen up.

“Where are we going for breakfast Yoongi?”

Both of them got out of the elevator and headed towards the main entrance of the hotel. Hoseok took his time to admire the hotel’s lobby. It was decorated with golden and white marble walls, chandeliers hanging from the ceiling with a few couches and tables placed here and there. Besides that, a small Greek statue fountain was also located right in the middle of the area.

“To this quaint coffee shop around the corner. The food and coffee there is pretty good.”

Hoseok took a good and long look at Yoongi. He was wearing a plain grey shirt with a leather jacket and skinny jeans – clearly showing off his amazing legs. His outfit totally contrasts Hoseok’s light blue dress shirt and white pants.

It should be illegal for Yoongi to look this good

“Oh, have you been there?”

“Every single time I come to New York, I’ve been here a few times for business purposes. Most of the time alone though, this is the first time I’ve come here with someone, or actually – travel with anyone.” Yoongi said, not daring to spare Hoseok a glance.

Hoseok felt a tug at his heart.

Oh my god, should I feel special? What the hell is this feeling I’m feeling? Ew go away please.

“What about Jimin-ssi? Didn’t you bring him to the banquet before?”

“I did ask him to go with me before, but he refused. He said that he isn’t comfortable travelling with air. The last time he flew, his flight experienced a terrible turbulence which nearly resulted in a crash, and that kinda scarred him for life – so most of the time I went alone.” He said with a shrug.

Hoseok didn’t know what to say, he truly felt sorry for Jimin for experiencing such a terrible thing and would do anything to help him overcome it, but he was also glad to be the first person to travel with Yoongi. It makes him feel special and that his heart is going to burst.

After what felt like forever, they both finally arrived at the coffee shop. Hoseok asked Yoongi what he wanted, insisting that he should pay after what Yoongi has done for him and ushered him to go find them a place. Yoongi took the spot at the corner near the window, overlooking the busy streets. Hoseok then placed their orders for them at the counter and then made his way towards Yoongi.

“You shouldn’t have.”

“Uh, yes I should have? You paid for my plane ticket? The hotel room? And my cup of Caramel Frappuccino back at the airport? It’s the least I could do. I feel bad.”

Yoongi mumbled something under his breath right before the waitress came with their order. Hoseok thanked the waitress before turning his attention towards Yoongi again.

“Where do you want to go after this? The banquet isn’t until tonight.”

“I’m not sure, I’ve never been here before. I’ll just go wherever you go.” Hoseok said, the corner of his eyes crinkling. “I want to go see the Top of the Rock though, they said view is better than the view from the Empire State Gallery, is that okay with you?”

“Of course, we could even go to Central Park after that, if you’d like.”

Hoseok let out another smile, “Sure thing.”

Hoseok is regretting every single one of his choices the moment he hears the elevator’s ‘ding’, signaling that they’ve reached the top. He doesn’t know what to do, he doesn’t want to back out – that will make him seem like a coward in front of Yoongi, and Hoseok has a reputation of himself to uphold.

Fuck my life I didn’t know it was going to be this high why did I suggest this I hate myself

Hoseok got out of the elevator before making his way towards the side of it, not daring to walk further anymore. He was thankful that there wasn’t a lot crowds today at the observation deck, if not people would be staring at him wondering what’s going on. He watches as Yoongi made his way out to the open aired deck searching for him, before he finally spotted Hoseok standing rooted to the ground near the elevator.

“Hey, Hoseok, what’s wrong?”

Everthing’s wrong I’m gonna die please save me I’m still young-

Hoseok didn’t say anything and just looked straight into Yoongi’s eyes, it sort of gives him a sense of calmness and reassurance.

“Are you perhaps afraid of heights? But you wanted to come see this right?”

Hoseok nodded his head slowly, before feeling something warm grabbing his hand. He looked down to find his hand in Yoongi’s.

“It’s alright, yeah? I’m here,” he said as he guided Hoseok to the deck carefully, making sure Hoseok was alright. “There’s nothing to be afraid of.” He reassured again, giving Hoseok his gummy smile.

He never wants Yoongi to let go of his hand.

Suddenly, everything was alright for Hoseok.

Right after getting some photos and appreciating the view from the deck, they both then made their way to Central Park. Hoseok couldn’t help himself and constantly stop around the park to either smell the flowers or pet other people dogs. Out of the corner of his eyes, he could see Yoongi smirking at him as they settled down on a bench.

“What? Am I not allowed to pet dogs?” he questioned sarcastically, rolling his eyes at the same time.

Yoongi let out a snicker, “I didn’t say anything dumbass.”

“Then why are you looking at me like that?”

“Am I not allowed to look at you?”

“…Touché

“I just find it weird how you have the need to pet every dog you see.”

Excuse me, you’re weird for not petting every dog you see.”

“Well, I guess I have a reason for that.”

“And that is?”

“Because I’m loyal to my dog back at home, he doesn’t like that I have scents of other dogs lingering on me. The last time I went home after playing with my friend’s dog, he ignored me for a day. One whole day, Hoseok. Can you believe that?

Hoseok couldn’t suppress his laughter and started bursting out loud in the middle of the park, and Yoongi couldn’t help but have a small smile slowly creeping up his face. He thinks that Hoseok has the most beautiful laugh he has ever heard, and that he could just play it on repeat without ever getting bored of it.

“I have a dog too,” Hoseok said between laughs, “His name is Mickey, but he lives with my parents back in Gwangju. I couldn’t bring him here with me to Seoul because my apartment doesn’t allow dogs, sadly.”

“Well that’s depressing.”

“Thanks for making me feel better, you’re doing a great job Yoongi.” Hoseok said sarcastically.

“Glad I’m such a help.”

Hoseok gave him a light punch on the shoulder, “You didn’t even tell me what your dog name is.”

“Oh yeah, his name is Min Holly. He’s living with me, unlike you, you depressing fool.”

Hoseok smacked him lightly again on the shoulder, “Hey! I’m not depressing okay! I’ll have you know that I’m probably the brightest sunshine you’ve ever met.”

He also wonders how he’s able to act like this with Yoongi. Just a few weeks back he was scared out of his wits when his boss called him to his office, and now he’s sitting on a bench in the middle of an unknown city with him, talking and having fun without a care in the world. He maybe thinks that Yoongi isn’t that bad, his thoughts suddenly trailed to wondering how his lips will feel against his, how Yoongi’s hand will slide up from his chest to his neck and–

God, Hoseok, stop it.

Yoongi is his boss – he shouldn’t be having all these thoughts, nothing good comes from it. If anything bad happens, he wouldn’t be able to face Yoongi ever again – and he doesn’t want that to happen.

“Wait a second, didn’t you say that your dog was a he? Why on earth did you name him Holly?”

“I didn’t, my brother did.”

Come to think of it, Hoseok never saw Yoongi’s brother, or parents. Shouldn’t they be part of the company too? I wonder where they are.

“Hey Yoongi, I’ve never seen your brother before, or your pare–“

Hoseok couldn’t finish his sentence before he was rudely interrupted by Yoongi, “It’s getting late, we should head back to get ready for tonight.”

He didn’t dare to ask the question again.

The moment Yoongi emerged from the bathroom wearing a navy blue suit with a grey striped tie and his hair styled nicely, Hoseok could feel his heart stopped. He had to hold back the urge to place kisses all over Yoongi – in one (three) word, Hoseok is suffering.

“Holy shit…Yoongi, you look amazing.”

Hoseok could see Yoongi’s cheeks turning pink, “Shut the fuck up, I’m not that good looking as you. You could easily steal all the attention away from me.”

He thinks that he isn’t okay hearing the fact that Yoongi just called him good looking.

Hoseok was wearing a white and black (note that it’s not black and white) suit with a bowtie, his peach-dyed locks falling neatly on his forehead. “Yoongi, you know that’s not true. You’re fucking stunning okay! I could just drop dead on the floor right now and never get up – I’ve been blinded by your beauty! Min Yoongi, I’m gonna sue you for doing this to me!”

And with that, Yoongi flushed an even deeper shade of pink hearing Hoseok complimenting him while using his full name. Usually, he would have whacked someone for using his full name, but he didn’t with Hoseok.

He has honestly never felt this comfortable with someone.

“You’re so fucking dramatic. Shut up before I lock you up in the bathroom.”

They both then proceeded to the main entrance to catch their ride – with Hoseok nearly fainting seeing another limousine waiting for them.

“Another limo? Yoongi, I don’t think I can take this.”

Yoongi turned around to face Hoseok, giving him a wink before entering the ride, “You either go big or go home, I guess.”

Hoseok is officially deceased.

(Little did he know, Yoongi is too)

(It’s just isn’t Yoongi’s thing to wink, but he’s just willing to do anything for Hoseok)

They both walked into the grand hall side by side. Hoseok could feel a lump in his throat, he has never seen a hall designed and decorated this beautiful, like something straight out of Cinderella’s castle – or any Disney castle. The hall was full of people, carrying themselves like royalty. Hoseok could feel his anxiety building up inside him, when he felt a familiar warmth grabbing his hand, causing Hoseok’s attention to turn to it.

“Hey, it’s alright yeah? I’ll be next to you most of the time so there’s nothing to be worried about.”

Hoseok’s honestly so thankful he has Yoongi by his side.

(Yoongi is also thankful he has Hoseok by his side)

They made their way around the banquet, greeting everyone they come across with, when they spotted someone approaching them with a rather nice smile, proudly showing off their dimples.

“Yoongi! It’s been so long!”

“Oh, Namjoon-ah, great to see you again,” Yoongi said, breaking into a smile, “I see you brought Seokjin hyung again.”

The man beside Namjoon smiled warmly at Yoongi, “Great to see you again too, Yoongi-ah. Oh, who’s this young man? You haven’t introduced him to us yet.” He said as his smile slowly turned into a smirk.

“Oh right, Hoseok, this is Kim Namjoon, and his fiancé Kim Seokjin. Namjoon and Seokjin hyung, this is Jung Hoseok.”

Both of the Kims looked at Yoongi with wide eyes, they haven’t told Yoongi that they’re engaged yet, so how would he know?

“Don’t think I didn’t see the matching rings on your ring finger. I’m guessing you guys are engaged because I wasn’t invited to the wedding yet and I’m expecting to be invited.”

Namjoon and Seokjin couldn’t help but break into a warm and gentle smile looking at Yoongi, and then at each other. “We really can’t hide anything from you eh, I swear I was going to tell you about it sooner or later.” Namjoon said with a soft chuckle.

Hoseok isn’t sure what he is feeling, but he knows that his heart feels warm and happy for them.

(He just somehow wishes that someday, maybe, that could be him and Yoongi.)

“Oh my god, congrats! I’m so happy for you guys!” he said, giving them his brightest smile with thumbs up.

All three heads turned to look at him; Hoseok felt a little bit conscious thinking that he must have said something wrong. But the feeling was soon gone when he saw the grins on their faces.

“Thanks, Hoseok. We’ll definitely remember to invite you to the wedding too.” Seokjin said with a wink.

“All right, we’ll catch up with you guys later. See ya.” Namjoon said as he waved goodbye. Yoongi gave them a little nod before walking with Hoseok towards their assigned table.

“You seem really close to them.”

Yoongi craned his neck to look at the taller lad properly, “Yeah, I met Namjoon during our university days. We’ve been great friends ever since. Namjoon met Seokjin at a bakery, and those two love birds quickly fell in love with each other, but they were so oblivious and only got together after Namjoon graduated. It was honestly a pain in the ass looking at them flirting with each other but not getting together. I’m really happy for them now though.”

Hoseok has never seen that smile on Yoongi’s face before; it’s like a parent retelling their love story to their kids – except him telling Hoseok about his best friend’s love story. Yoongi might come across to you as a cold, intimidating and ‘doesn’t-give-a-fuck-about-anything’ type of guy, but spending these few days with him, Hoseok could clearly see that Yoongi is actually a sweet, warm-hearted and caring guy who loves and appreciates those around him very much. That Yoongi would do anything to make the people at his side happy – and that Yoongi’s also a grown adult man who would put Kumamon as his phone wallpaper. (Hoseok doesn’t need Yoongi to know that he accidently saw that)

They both settled down comfortably on their table when another two figure suddenly popped out of nowhere and startled Yoongi and him before proceeding to seat at their table.

“Yoongi hyung! How are you? Guess we’re sitting at the same table again! You didn’t call me for like what, two weeks? Kookie, look it’s Yoongi hyung! How’s Jiminie? Does he miss me? Because I sure miss him! I didn’t see him for like a week because Kookie won’t stop giving me work and I’ve been losing sleep because of it! But Kookie also misses Jiminie a lot too! Oh, and who’s that beside you?”

Hoseok took a few minutes to look at the two unknown faces staring at him with their doe eyes and come to realized that they look really young. They look like they just graduated, what are they doing here?

“Didn’t I tell you to not call me Kookie when we are at any businesses?” The said guy named ‘Kookie’ let out a sigh and shook his head, “Hello Yoongi hyung, pleasure to see you again.”

“Jesus, Taehyung you’re blabbering so goddamn loud you’re going to cause a scene. I swear to god you act the same whether you’re in the club or at some private function.” Yoongi said as he rolls his eyes, “Good to see you too, Jungkook. Why did you bring him here again this year?”

“I ask myself the same question every year.”

Hoseok can’t help but laugh at the dynamic between Yoongi and the two guys. It’s like watching something straight up from a comedy movie.

“Hello! What’s your name? I’m Kim Taehyung and that’s probably the meanest boss you’ll ever meet – Jeon Jungkook,”

Excuse me, I’ll have you know I’m the nicest boss you’ve ever met, I put up with your daily antics like 24/7 and-“

“Shhh, Kookie don’t interrupt me when I’m speaking,” Taehyung said, hushing Jungkook with a finger to his mouth, “So what’s your name? You must be someone really special because Yoongi hyung never brings someone to this banquet.”

Hoseok could feel the heat rising up his cheeks, he turned to look at Yoongi and found out that he’s probably experiencing the same thing as Hoseok.

“My name is Jung Hoseok, pleased to meet you both.” He said, trying hard not to stutter from the rising heat in his cheeks.

“Hmm, you look older than me, so which means you’re definitely older than Kookie. So I’ll call you Hoseok hyung!”

Wait, that Jungkook guy is younger than Taehyung? Holy shit I did not expect that.

“Or could I call you Hobi? It seems like a cute nickname for you, if you don’t mind that’s it!”

Hoseok let out a toothy grin at Taehyung, “Sure, I don’t mind. I like that nickname. Could I call you Tae then?”

Taehyung furiously nodded and gave Hoseok his box-like smile.

(Hoseok was too busy laughing with Taehyung and Jungkook to notice the way how Yoongi looks at him – like Hoseok is his sun and the only thing he needs in order to survive)

Hoseok later came to know how Yoongi and the two met. Yoongi and Taehyung both grew up together in Daegu before Yoongi’s family moving to Seoul to expand their business and they both lost contact. Hoseok also learned that Taehyung, Jungkook and Jimin met each other in university, but Jungkook had to drop out from his studies to take over his dad’s company due to his deteriorating health. Taehyung decided that he wanted to help Jungkook and thus followed him. Luckily, Jungkook was a fast learner and quickly picked up everything he needed to know and became extremely successful.

(He also learned that, eventhough Taehyung might come off as a goofy and care-free person, he is extremely smart and good with what he’s doing and probably also one of the reason why Jungkook’s company rose so quickly)

However, Jimin stayed and graduated but then ended up at Yoongi’s company. Taehyung and Jungkook often came to visit Jimin. But at that time, Taehyung didn’t know Yoongi was Jimin’s boss. Until one fine day-

(“Jiminie, I’ve never seen your boss before! Is he treating you well? If he isn’t you better tell me! I will beat him up for you!”

“I’m fine Tae! He’s actually really nice, trust me.

“Jimin, who are you talking to? I need your help with-“

“Yoongi hyung?!”

“…Taehyung?”

“…who?”)

It was past midnight by the time the banquet ended and they both bid their farewells to their friends. Instead of heading straight back to the hotel to get some sleep, both of them decided to go back to Central Park.

(Yoongi proposed the idea, and Hoseok couldn’t be happier about it)

And that’s how they found themselves sitting on grass underneath the stars in their fancy suits, at 1a.m without a care in the world.

“The sky is beautiful? Isn’t it?” he muttered as he turned around to face Yoongi.

Yoongi was staring at him, and Hoseok could clearly see the reflection of the stars twinkling in his eyes. He thinks that Yoongi is too ethereal for this world. There’s no way a man this perfect could be real. He slowly shifted his focus from his eyes to linger on Yoongi’s soft lips. Hoseok wants to kiss him. Oh, he wants to kiss him so badly. But he knows he can’t – he shouldn’t.

That’s when Hoseok came into conclusion that he likes Yoongi.

(He thinks it’s too soon for love)

(Although Hoseok is sure that it won’t take long for him to fall completely in love with Yoongi)

Just as he was about to turn away from Yoongi, he felt a hand grabbing his neck pulling him forward to crash his lips against another. Hoseok was taken aback for a moment, only to realize it was Yoongi and he immediately melted into the kiss. His hand somehow found his way up to Yoongi’s hair while his other hand steadied himself from falling over – Hoseok couldn’t hear anything besides the sound of his heart racing. Yoongi lips were also soft, like a baby, and Hoseok could just kiss them forever.

Yoongi had glowed beautifully in the dim moonlight, soft and harsh at the same time. Yoongi licked Hoseok’s lip asking for entrance, wanting to test the boundaries and Hoseok gladly parted his lips. Their tongues met with each other like a man returning from war to their lover. They kissed and sucked on each other until both of them parted to catch their breath. Hoseok could still feel the tingling of Yoongi’s lips on his.

Hoseok blinked a few times and stared right back at Yoongi. He took in the way how his hair is messed up, how his lips are swollen and how Yoongi is flushing a deep pink. He exactly mirrors how Hoseok is looking right now. Hoseok locks his eyes with Yoongi and gazes into them with a grin slowly breaking onto his face.

They say the eyes are the windows to your soul, but Hoseok thinks that Yoongi’s eyes are the windows to his universe.

(If that made sense, of course.)

(Hoseok doesn’t think it does but who cares because he just kissed Yoongi and that’s all that matters)

(And Yoongi thinks Hoseok’s smile could rival the sun easily)

They both sat face to face with each other in silence, not daring to speak of what happened as the moonlight casts a sliver layer over the grassland.  Hoseok sucked in a deep breath, preparing to break the silence but –

“Hoseok, go out with me.”

Hoseok looked at Yoongi with his face froze and mouth agape, trying to take in what Yoongi just said, before his eyes soften and cheeks turned pink.

Well that sounded more like an order than a choice… honestly what’s new

“… Sure Yoongi, I’ll definitely go out with you.” He said and flashed him the brightest smile Yoongi has ever seen as he placed his arms on Yoongi’s shoulder, leaning in for another kiss.

(Yoongi thinks that smile could have lightened up the entire park… no wait, take that back, the entire fucking world)

They both quickly washed up and just crash into bed by the time they got back to the hotel. With Hoseok burying his head in the crook of Yoongi’s neck and their legs a tangled mess, they both drifted off to a good night sleep.

This time, Hoseok wasn’t woken up by the sunlight shining on his face, or a pat on the shoulder, but rather a kiss on his temple.

I could really get used to this morning call

Hoseok rubbed his eyes a few times before opening them to see Yoongi propping himself up on the bed with his elbow, looking at him with a small smile on his face.

“Good morning sunshine,” Yoongi said in a hoarse voice.

Hoseok mimicked the smile on Yoongi’s face, “Good morning to you too sunshine.”

Yoongi fell back into bed, “Remember how I rudely cut you off when you were going to ask about my family?”

“Yeah, I do. But you if you feel uncomfortable saying it, I won’t press you.”

Yoongi let out a sigh, before turning to face Hoseok from staring at the ceiling.

“But I feel like you should know, since we’re like…together now,”

“Then go ahead and tell me,” He said with a dimpled smile.

Yoongi looked at Hoseok as they sat up on the bed to face each other. He extended both of his hands to grab Hoseok ones in his before giving him a small smile to reassure him that it’s nothing big.

“You see Hobi, I love music ever since I was a little kid. I remember seeing the piano for the first time, it was taller than me, and I wanted to touch the keys so badly. When I was slightly older, I started to learn to play the piano. It was the most beautiful thing I’ve ever encountered. It was something that motivates and keeps me going every single day; the piano was like – my first love.”

Hoseok could see the stars in Yoongi’s eyes twinkling again.

“So naturally I decided to major in music when I got to university. I did some underground rapping here and there but it never really gotten serious. One day after I graduated, I got a call from my dad, which was weird considering my dad never calls me… we didn’t have the best father-son relationship, and told me he wanted to meet me. At that time, my dad’s company was growing really quickly and making it big in the industry.”

Hoseok was listening to Yoongi intently as he told him his story, not daring to interject him.

“So I went to meet him, and he said that he was going to move to another country to open up another business and that he wants me to take over the company here. You see the thing is – my dad’s the type of person you can’t say no to, and if you do, bad things happen. He wanted me to quit music. Obviously I didn’t listen and rejected him.”

“When I told him that, his face immediately scowled, I knew I made a wrong decision. My dad’s a powerful man. He fucking gave money to the entertainment company to fire me so that I could take up his offer. Like what the fuck? Have you ever seen a father who would fucking shatter his son’s dreams in order to please himself?”

“I was pissed at him, I told him to fuck off and to not ever bother me again. Obviously that didn’t work and I eventually took up his offer. I was also curious why he didn’t hand it over to my brother instead, all he just said that I was a ‘better candidate’. My brother was fucking pissed when he heard the news that my dad chose me over him. He came to give me a punch in the face before he left the country without a word and cut all ties with us.”

“That’s not the end Hobi.” He said as he let out a pained laughter, “My mom decided to stay with me in Seoul while my dad went to… Japan, I think? He was there for a few years and his business was going well. Then one day, my mom caught my dad back in Seoul with another woman, god Hobi – my mom was so depressed finding out that my dad was cheating on her. It hurt my heart to see the woman who was always beside me, encouraging and protecting me in pain. I wanted to punch the living daylights out of my dad, but I refrained myself from doing so, thinking that it was useless to waste my energy on such an asshole.”

“So I told my mom to get a divorce with that asshole, and she tried. But my dad was furious and he refused to sign the divorce form. My mom was suffering; she refused to eat anything or see anyone besides me and eventually got into depression. Long story short, my mom – she passed away. And that asshole didn’t even bother to go to her funeral, which is great because he didn’t deserve to and if he did I would kick him out. Ever since then, I cut all my ties with him; he was no longer my dad.”

The moment Hoseok saw tears welling up in Yoongi’s eyes, his heart felt like it got dropped a million feet from the sky. He immediately brought his hands up to Yoongi’s face to wipe away the tears that were threatening to fall. “Oh my god Yoongi… I’m so sorry you have to go through all this. I’m so sorry, I’m so sorry…”

Yoongi let out a small smile before bringing his hand up to grab Hoseok’s wrist, “It has nothing to do with you, silly. Why are you apologizing for? You’re too good for this world I swear.”

Hoseok couldn’t help but let out a laugh as he went to embrace him. He pulled away after a few minutes as Yoongi ruffled his hair. “Is that all? What happened to your dad now?”

“Few years back, his business in Japan had a serious downfall and he lost all his money and shit. He came back to look for me and demanded to have the company handed back to him. But since I refused and he legally gave the company to me with all the signed papers and stuffs, there’s nothing much he could do.”

“He was insane Hobi – he couldn’t take the downfall. My dad couldn’t stand the fact that he lost everything and that both of his sons refused to recognize him. He drank every single fucking day and even took drugs. I wanted to help him, I really did – but I didn’t. I thought that since he was the reason why my mom died, he deserved this mess and he should deal with it himself. Then one day, I got the news that my dad overdosed on drugs and died.”

“Even though I hated my dad, I still regret the fact that I could have done something to prevent him from killing himself. After all, he’s still my dad and you can’t change that.” He ended with a shrug.

Hoseok eyes was fixated on his hands on his lap, he couldn’t bear to look at Yoongi in the eyes after he heard what happened.  Suddenly, he felt Yoongi grabbing his chin lightly to tilt his head up. He locked his gaze with him, expecting to see a weeping Yoongi – instead, Hoseok saw a sweet gummy smile plastered on his face.

“Enough of the sad talk, yeah? Let’s go out and get some food.”

6 months later

“Yoongi! Tae just texted me and asked if we wanted to go to the club tonight!”

“Jesus Christ Hoseok, didn’t I told you to knock before coming in?”

“Heh, sorry,”

Hoseok’s been opening up himself to Yoongi a lot ever since they started dating. He’s become more relaxed and cheerful around him knowing that Yoongi is actually a huge softie for him. He’s also grown incredibly close to Taehyung, Jimin and Jungkook that they would hang out together whenever they had time. Hoseok even went to dance with Jimin and Jungkook a few times knowing that they both enjoy moving their body just as much as Hoseok. Taehyung on the other hand, they would just feel contented going to their local park to pet every single dog they see together.

“So do you wanna go? Tae’s spamming me with emojis and its breaking my phone.” He questioned as he made his way to sit on Yoongi’s desk.

“Must we go?”

“I mean, it’s okay if you’re not feeling up to it. I won’t go if you won’t go.”

“Great, because I have other things planned out for us,” Yoongi said as a smirk breaks out on his face.

Hoseok could feel his entire face heating up – but he was trying his best to keep his cool, “Alright then, I’ll text Tae.”

Hoseok stuffed his phone back into his pocket. He steadied his other hand on the desk before leaning towards Yoongi as he grabbed his tie to pull him nearer, their faces dangerously close to each other.

“So, what are we doing tonight?” he asked with a suggestive smile as his eyes traveled from Yoongi’s lips to his eyes.

Yoongi let out a chuckle as he lifted Hoseok’s chin with his brow raised, “It’s a secret, you’ll see. I’ll come pick you up at 6 – don’t worry, we have the entire night to ourselves.”

And with that, Yoongi placed a passionate kiss onto Hoseok’s lips.
