They were laying on Izuku’s bed, foreheads pressed together, breathing.
“So,” Izuku spoke first, Todoroki’s eyes falling to see his cheeks, dusted in red, “truth or dare?”
“Truth,” Todoroki said, linking both of their hand together. The feeling of Izuku’s palm against his was the most comforting thing he had ever felt.
“Do you love me?” Izuku hid his face in the pillow by his side. Todoroki felt his own face heating up, and was scared his left side would catch fire.
“Yes,” he answered, his eyes staring deeply into Izuku, who was peeking over the pillow, “I love you so much it hurts.”
“Cheese,” Izuku said, ticking our his tongue, and immediately felt Todoroki shake. Izuku stared, feeling like he was doing something forbidden if he made Todoroki laugh like that.
“Truth or dare?” Todoroki asked, breath uneven because of his laugh.
“Truth,”Izuku breathed out his answer, eyes fixated in Todoroki’s; so raw with emotion, so full of life that it made shivers run up his spine.
“Do you love me?” Todoroki asked, letting himself runs his fingers along Izuku’s hand.
“Yes,” Izuku answered, giggling at the feeling of Todoroki’s fingers dancing across his skin.
“How much?” Todoroki asked.
“Um,” Izuku wondered, his eyes staring at the ceiling for a moment, “so much I could fight every single villain in the world, if I could see you smile.”
“You’re a hero, Izuku.” Todoroki laughed. “You would fight them either way.”
“Okay, then,” Izuku said, wondering once again, “I would fight every single villain /without/ my Quirk, if it meant I could see you smile.”
“That wouldn’t make me smile.” Todoroki frowned, and he moved his free hand towards Izuku’s cheeks. “You would get hurt.”
“You’re picky, Todoroki.” Izuku laughed, letting his face rest against Todoroki’s hand. He felt better with just that contact against him. “I love you so much…I would love you even if I weren’t a hero.”
“You? Not a hero?” Todoroki asked, opening his eyes a bit wider. “I really can’t picture that…”
“Maybe in another universe,” Izuku shrugged, “where Quirks didn’t exist.”
“How would we meet then?” Todoroki asked, by this point semi conscious, as well as Izuku. It was getting late, almost three am.
“Um, I don’t know,” Izuku answered, sincerely, “but I think I would search for you. Search everywhere, land and sea, weast and east. And I would love you, no matter who you are, where you come from or what you have seen. I would love you, forever and ever, even if you were born in a different universe, or a different place. That’s how much I love you.”
“Really?” Todoroki asked, his voice quivering from the emotion.
“Really,” Izuku answered, giving him a tiny smile; tired but real. “Hey, Todoroki, truth or dare?”
“Dare,” Todoroki said, his mind too overwhelmed by what they had been saying that a dare sounded far safer.
“Kiss me,” Izuku said, the tips of his ears bright red, but his nervous smile untouched. Something inside of Todoroki melted, joy spreading through his veins like a drug.
Todoroki dove in, feeling his own cheeks burn. He placed a gentle kiss on top of Izuku’s head.
“That’s not fair,” Izuku said, pouting, “I meant on the lips.”
“Truth or dare,” Todoroki asked again, a smile in his face, getting nearer to Izuku’s face.
“Dare,” Izuku said, his eyes glued to Todoroki’s lips, which were getting nearer with each second.
“Call my name,” Todoroki whispered against Izuku’s ear, making him melt.
“Shoto,” he called, and Todoroki almost felt his heart stop in that moment.
He reached out, pressing his lips against Izuku’s.
