I love you (I love you, I love you)

Summary:

People throw meaningful phrases around all the time without realising what they even mean or can come across as. Sometimes those meaningful phrases mean nothing at all or we don't realise that we even said them. But when you repeat those meaningful phrases from time to time, they have to have a meaning to you. Sometimes you have to say these meaningful phrases several times until you realise that you said them and that you meant them just like that.

Or;

Where Jimin tells Yoongi he loves him.

“How many times do I have to tell you, that you should dress warmly?” Yoongi huffed, while carrying a hot cup of tea over to the couch Jimin was laying on. “It was just a quick walk to the convenience store,” Jimin sniffled, blowing his nose afterwards.

It was December and incredibly cold outside. Jimin, with his many bad ideas and this was one of them, wanted some snacks the day before and was too lazy to change his clothes, so he just went to the convenience store in a shirt with sweats. The result of it was now an annoyed Yoongi who took care of a sick Jimin, who was also very whiny.

“You went outside in a shirt! In the middle of December! Who even does that?” Yoongi questioned and handed the cup over to Jimin, who grabbed it thankfully, after slowly sitting up. The blanket was bunched up all around him. “I just wanted some snacks, Hyung,” Jimin whined and blew over the cup of tea, trying to cool the tea down, but ending in a coughing fit.

Yoongi quickly grabbed the cup, so it wouldn't spill all over Jimin and burn his legs. Yoongi sighed, as he patted Jimin's back gently.

Yoongi was used to his best friend after all these years by now. Jimin had many bad ideas, it probably rubbed off of Taehyung and onto Jimin, Yoongi always thought of that, but he actually didn't mind. He liked caring for his best friend. That's what they did since they met each other for the first time. Sure, it was annoying and exhausting from time to time, if you had to deal with a whiny and sick Jimin, for example, but Yoongi had a huge heart, so he couldn't just refuse to care for him. Yoongi had a soft spot for Jimin, everyone could tell.

“You could have just told me to get some snacks,” Yoongi declared, after Jimin calmed down, handing him his cup of tea back. Jimin eyed him and sighed, before placing his full bottom lip on the edge of the cup, slowly sipping the tea. It was cooler now, thank god.

“You were asleep,” Jimin retorted, his voice groggy due to his coughing fit. “So?” Yoongi asked confusedly and sat down next to the sick boy. “You exactly know how you get when I wake you up for stuff like that,” Jimin said, before sneezing a couple of times, snot dribbling out of his nose.

Jimin quickly placed the cup onto the small desk in front of the couch and grabbed another tissue, blowing his nose loudly.

“And you exactly know that I would be pissed like crazy at first, but eventually I would drag myself out into the cold to get you your stupid snacks,” Yoongi hissed and Jimin rolled his eyes. “You're so annoying, Hyung,” Jimin said, cuddling himself back into the thick blanket, which Yoongi brought him after he saw the boy's sick state.

“Not nearly as much as you are whenever you are sick, princess,” Yoongi muttered and got up, deciding to cook his sick best friend a soup. Jimin shot him a piercing glare and Yoongi just smirked. “Stop being so mean to me, I'm sick, Yoongi!” Jimin declared with a stuffed nose and pouted, the thick blanket was wrapped all around him by that point, even laying on top of his head. His small face was the only thing that wasn't swallowed by the thick blanket.

“You should be grateful, that I care for you, while you're clearly the mean and whiny one here,” Yoongi huffed, as he rounded the kitchen counter and prepared everything for the soup. While he prepared and cooked the soup he shot a few glances over at his best friend, who was cuddled up on the couch, to see he was still alright. When Yoongi was finished and carried the bowl and a spoon over to Jimin he laughed quietly – Jimin fell asleep.

Yoongi eyed the sleeping boy. His head was tipped back against the couch, but the blanket was still tightly around the boy. Jimin's mouth hung open, due to his stuffed nose and he snored loudly.

Yoongi carefully sat down next to Jimin and smiled fondly. “Jiminie? Wake up, I made you some soup,” Yoongi whispered and watched as Jimin stirred in his sleep, before the drowsiness went away and he slowly woke up. Another coughing fit followed, as the younger one closed his mouth and tried to breathe through his blocked nose. Yoongi handed him a tissue, after Jimin calmed down again, so he could blow his nose.

“You spoil me too much,” Jimin grumbled as he grabbed the bowl gratefully. “I'm just the greatest best friend you could ever ask for,” Yoongi grinned and Jimin rolled his eyes.

“I love you, Yoongi,” Jimin said, before he turned his attention to the soup.

“I think you should get Jimin home!” Seokjin shouted into Yoongi's ear, the latter having to strain his ear to understand his friend over the loud beat of the music.

All seven friends decided to go out that night, they wanted to have a few drinks and they wanted to dance. Without much discussion they met up at a club, that was close to them all and started to have fun. They had been there for several hours and some were definitely drunker than others. Jimin and Taehyung being the ones who were absolutely piss drunk.

Yoongi thought so, too.

“Yeah, will do!” Yoongi shouted back and Seokjin smiled. “When will you tell him, though?” Seokjin suddenly asked and Yoongi's face filled with confusion. “What do you mean?” Yoongi asked, before taking a sip of his beer. “You know what I mean. When will you tell Jimin that you love him? I really tried to keep quiet for so long, but this has been going on for almost three years now and it just hurts to see you two tiptoeing around each other for that long,” Seokjin told Yoongi, who eyed him with wide eyes.

“H-How, why? I-” Yoongi stuttered, unable to form a complete sentence, as he gaped at Seokjin. “How did I know? It wasn't hard to figure that out. The looks you're giving each other are different than the looks you would send your best friend. You're also very protective of Jimin,” Seokjin stated matter of factly and Yoongi sighed defeated.

Why should he deny it now? Yoongi knew he was head over heels in love with his best friend, that was why he even put up with that annoying, fluffy boy until now. When he first realised that he developed feelings for the younger boy he tried to push those away with all his strength, but they just got stronger and stronger until he knew that he was fucked. Since then Yoongi just let them be there, but never let them get in the way of their friendship. Sometimes he thought about confessing to Jimin, but that would just complicate things and he definitely didn't want that.

“I-I don't want to make things complicated,” Yoongi said and shrugged, before quickly downing the rest of his beer. “Believe me, you wouldn't. You'd make things so much easier,” Seokjin sighed and looked over Yoongi's shoulder, “And you might want to start being protective again, because someone is hitting on your man.” Yoongi immediately turned his head into Jimin's direction and squinted his eyes, as he saw another guy place his hands on Jimin's waist.

“I'll take him home, yeah? See you around, Jin. And uh, thanks, Hyung,” Yoongi said quickly and smiled shyly. Seokjin nodded and waved him off. “I'd do anything to see two love birds happy,” he laughed and Yoongi chuckled, before standing up and pushing his way over to his best friend. He glared at the man who was grabbing Jimin's waist. “Could you maybe remove your filthy hands from my boyfriend?” Yoongi hissed fiercely, slipping in the little lie of Jimin being his boyfriend, so the man knew that Jimin was off the field.

“Sorry man, didn't know he had a boyfriend,” the man said, raised his hands up in defence and quickly backed off. “Yoongi! Will you dance with me now?” Jimin slurred excitedly, as he placed his hands around Yoongi's neck.

Over the three years Yoongi became pretty good at keeping a calm face whenever Jimin was especially close to him or complimented him, they lived together, so Yoongi had no other choice.

“No, Jiminie. We'll go home now, okay? You're really drunk, so I don't want you to drink any more alcohol,” Yoongi reasoned and Jimin whined in his ear. “But, Hyung,” Jimin slurred but Yoongi shook his head with a stern expression and took Jimin's hand. “No buts, let's go,” Yoongi declared and tugged him out of the club. As soon as they reached the cold night air Jimin shivered visibly and huffed. “It's cold,” he mumbled and Yoongi immediately shrugged off his jacket. He knew how whipped he was, but he didn't even care anymore at this point. Yoongi didn't want Jimin sick again.

He handed Jimin the jacket, who took it gratefully and immediately slipped into it. “Thanks, Hyung,” Jimin smiled and sighed contently, while they were walking back to their apartment. When their apartment came into view Jimin's wobbly steps quickened and Yoongi frowned deeply.

“Are you alright, Jiminie?” Yoongi asked concernedly and saw Jimin shake his head rapidly. “Throw... up,” Jimin mumbled, while grabbing Yoongi's arm with one hand and clutching his stomach with the other one. “Oh god, okay, uh. Will you be able to hold it in until we're inside?” Yoongi asked and Jimin nodded slowly. Yoongi quickly grabbed Jimin's soft hand and jogged up to their apartment, quickly opening the door of the complex and then the door of their shared apartment.

Yoongi lead Jimin into the bathroom and just as Jimin reached the toilet, he threw up. Just in time, Yoongi thought. Yoongi took his jacket off of Jimin's small frame, while he was emptying his stomach soundly, small whimpers making their way through the gagging sound. Yoongi brought his jacket away and also slipped into the kitchen to get a glass of water for his best friend.

When he went back into the bathroom Jimin still hung over the toilet, but he didn't throw up anymore. He was breathing loudly. “Hey, are you okay, Jiminie? I brought you a glass of water so you can calm your stomach down. Brush your teeth first, though, okay?” Yoongi informed Jimin worriedly. The latter nodded weakly and made an attempt to get up without help, but failed.

Yoongi put the glass of water on a small shelf and hoisted Jimin's dainty frame up. “C'mon, let's brush your teeth,” Yoongi said softly and led Jimin over to the sink, where he grabbed Jimin's toothbrush and some toothpaste. After they were done Yoongi handed Jimin the glass of water and the younger one took some grateful sips. “Thank you, Yoongi,” Jimin mumbled weakly and with teary eyes.

“It's alright. Let's get you into your bed, shall we?” Yoongi suggested and Jimin nodded slowly. So they made their way into Jimin's bedroom. Yoongi turned the lights on, so he could lead Jimin to his soft bed. “Do you want to change?” Yoongi asked Jimin who only shrugged tiredly. “Would be better, I guess,” Yoongi mumbled to himself and walked over to Jimin's closet to pull out some sweats and a wide shirt.

When he walked back to Jimin he eyed him shortly. “Don't panic now, okay?” Yoongi warned as he pulled off Jimin's shoes, followed by his trousers. “Ugh, you act like I didn't know you for the past three years,” Jimin grumbled and raised his arms above his head, as Yoongi pulled his shirt off. Yoongi chuckled quietly. Yoongi pulled the wide shirt onto Jimin's body also followed by the sweats. “I'll bring you another glass of water, okay? Get comfortable,” Yoongi said, as he patted Jimin's head softly, taking the discarded clothing and leaving the room.

Firstly he walked into the bathroom to put the dirty laundry away and take the glass of water they left behind. Yoongi slowly walked into the kitchen and sighed, as he poured Jimin another glass.

Jimin was such a lightweight when it came to alcohol, but he was incredibly cute when he was drunk. So Yoongi couldn't be mad at all.

The older one also grabbed a painkiller before walking back into Jimin's bedroom to see the younger boy already half asleep. Yoongi quietly walked over to him and set the glass with the painkiller onto the night stand.

He placed one hand onto Jimin's soft cheek and his eyes opened drowsily. “If something is wrong, come into my room or call for me, okay?” Yoongi asked and Jimin nodded slowly. “Yeah, thank you, Yoongi,” Jimin whispered, followed by a breathy “I love you.” before his eyes slipped shut again and he was fully asleep.

Yoongi willed his heart rate to go down and took one last glance at the sleeping beauty in front of him, before he walked out of the room and closed the door softly.

*
“I love payday!” Jimin cheered, as he walked along the pavement, Yoongi right beside him. “Oh, you mean because then we'll always go out to eat and I'll pay for you, right,” Yoongi huffed and Jimin giggled up at him. Yoongi was in awe. Jimin was so breathtakingly beautiful.

“It's not like that, Hyung,” Jimin said between giggles and Yoongi laughed along. His small giggles were contagious.

When they arrived at the small restaurant Yoongi opened the door and held it open for Jimin, who blushed lightly and ducked his head as he entered. “Where do you want to sit?” Yoongi asked gently and Jimin shrugged. “I don't mind. Wherever you want to sit is fine,” Jimin said and smiled up at him and suddenly it was hard to look at Jimin without spilling those three magic words right then and there.

Yoongi quickly averted his gaze and looked for a small and empty table, which he also quickly found. He grabbed Jimin's hand softly and noticed how Jimin's small hand immediately curled around his larger one, while they were walking to the free table. As soon as they sat down across from each other a waitress made her way over to them, handing them the menu and asking them for some drinks.

After Yoongi and Jimin got their drinks and ordered their food they looked at each other. Yoongi eyed Jimin, while he sipped at his water. “I really like this hair colour on you,” Yoongi said truthfully, while thinking about how soft Jimin's pink hair was. Jimin's cheeks immediately matched the colour of his hair and he ducked his head down as he smiled brightly. “Thank you, Hyung,” the younger one said shyly and looked back up, as their food was placed in front of them.

“Oh, thank god, finally. I'm starving,” Yoongi groaned and immediately dug into his food. Jimin followed suit.

They shared some small talk while they shoved down the food, but mostly just enjoying such amazing tasting food. When Jimin finished first he sighed contently and patted his bulging belly. He shot Yoongi a sweet smile, as the latter looked up at him, while scoping the last of his food into his awaiting mouth.

He eyed the beauty that was Yoongi while he chewed his food peacefully.

Yoongi was such a beautiful boy. His pale skin and his mint hair went together perfectly, his dark eyes always turning soft whenever they landed upon Jimin. But Jimin's favourite thing about Yoongi was definitely his gummy smile and how the crinkles by his eyes would appear. Yoongi's smile made Jimin feel at ease, but also letting Jimin's heart race like a maniac. Yes, Jimin loved Yoongi, also for a long time now, but he never tried to confess to him. He didn't want to make things complicated. He wanted to save the friendship they had.

But when Yoongi finished his food, looked up at him and shot him a blinding smile it struck Jimin harder than before and he couldn't control his thoughts anymore, especially his mouth.

“Wow, I love you,” Jimin babbled and Yoongi's smile faded. “W-What did you say?” Yoongi asked with a weak voice. Did he hear correctly? Did Park Jimin, the boy he fell in love with three years ago, just tell him, sober and not sick, that he loved him? Yoongi just gaped at the lovely boy in front of him and waited for his response.

Jimin panicked on the inside. Why did he just say it like that? But there was no going back now and Jimin definitely wouldn't chicken out now. Maybe this was his chance.

“I said, that I really do love you,” Jimin stammered and looked at his best friend with wide eyes. Yoongi's shocked expression turned into one with fond eyes and a stupid smile. Yoongi gently took one of Jimin's small hands and squeezed it softly. “It took you long enough to say so,” Yoongi said and looked into Jimin's eyes.

“I love you, too. Probably did so after the first time I met you,” Yoongi answered truthfully and Jimin's eyes went glossy. “You do?” he asked and his bottom lip quivered. Yoongi nodded and also grabbed Jimin's other hand. “Can we finally be boyfriends now?” Yoongi asked and Jimin nodded rapidly.

“Yes, yes!” Jimin exclaimed, ignoring the people around them and squeezed Yoongi's hands tightly. Jimin smiled brightly, his eyes turning into crescents while his chest was bubbling with happiness. He was the happiest boy on the whole planet in that moment.

Yoongi smiled back, eyes turning into little slits and crinkles appearing again. He was also more than happy and he couldn't believe this, but he did. He would probably cry if he found out that this was a dream. Luckily it was not a dream.

“But Yoongi?”
“Yes?”

“You know, that means you have to pay for my food every time now that you're my boyfriend, right?” Jimin told him cockily and Yoongi snorted, while rolling his eyes.

Jimin was such a brat, but a really lovely and beautiful one and Yoongi was happy that this brat was his boyfriend now. It would be an honour to pay for Jimin's food until he died, if Yoongi was honest, but he wouldn't give Jimin this satisfaction.

“Let me think about that,” Yoongi smiled softly and Jimin grinned brightly.

Yes, he definitely will always pay for Jimin's food.
