"Hey, Shinsou," Midoriya spoke quietly, trying to preserve the atmosphere of the room, "can I get up and get a glass of water? I'll be back in a second..." Midoriya leaned forward, over Shinsou's arm, and smiled at him. Shinsou nodded, moving his arm so Midoriya could crawl out of their pile.
"Oh, Izuku, could you grab me a glass too?" Ochako chimed in from her spot on Iida's chest. Izuku nodded as he walked off, stumbling in Hitoshi's too-big pajama bottoms. Ochako paused the movie politely, smiling up at Iida. "What do you think, Tenya? Is it as dumb as you thought it would be?" Ochako asked, poking Iida's cheek to get his attention.
"Huh?" Iida blinked out of his stupor, his eyebrows furrowing as he looked away from the screen. Ochako was about to repeat her question, but was stopped. "I think it's a travesty. It's got no merit to call itself a movie. The person in charge of casting seems to have looked more for pretty faces instead of actual acting ability, the lighting and color choices are completely mismatched, and the editing is so choppy that I can hardly follow anything. Thankfully the dialog explains most of the plot, but some things still confuse me. Why would they run from the villain instead of facing them head on, aren't they supposed to be heroes? Also-" Iida said loudly, his voice echoing through the common room.
"Shut the fuck up! Ok, we get it, it's not a good fucking movie. I don't wanna hear you rant about it." Bakugou yelled from the couch, kicking Iida's back. "I think it's kinda funny. That one girl, the damsel in distress, she seems like she doesn't give a shit at all. All of her lines are gold." Bakugou leaned more onto the armrest of the couch, putting his foot back into Kirishima's lap. Kirishima laughed from his spot, nodding.
"I especially like how, in that one scene, she's wearing a different shirt from when she got captured." Kirishima said, his voice light and friendly. "Hey, what about you, new kid? Enjoying yourself?" Kirishima poked Hitoshi's face with his big toe, grinning cheekily down at him. Ochako leaned over then, her head leaving Iida's chest to now lean on Hitoshi's shoulder.
"Yeah, do you like it? Speaking of, how did you like class today? I know it's your first day, but did you like Mr. Aizawa?" Ochako asked, her smile getting wider with each question. Iida looked at him too, intently waiting for his answer. From his thigh, Shouto also adjusted himself to look up at Hitoshi.
"The movie is okay. Like Iida said, it's not really that good, but I can appreciate some bad acting." Hitoshi shrugged, smiling as he spoke. Usually, his smile would put people off. It always looks so menacing and conniving, despite him (usually) not intending it to be. His new classmates seemed to like his smile. He didn't know how to feel about that. "Your class is... pretty hard, though. I'm gonna be sore tomorrow." Hitoshi sighed and leaned back into the couch. Kirishima let his leg rest on Shinsou's shoulder, his foot hanging onto his chest.
"I was sore after my first day, too!" Izuku called out from the kitchen.
"Are you eavesdropping, Midoriya?" Hitoshi called back, smirking. He heard Midoriya start to protest, but continued before he could. "If your fight from the sports festival is any indication, though, I'm pretty sure you were more than sore after your first day. Especially if you were using your quirk." Hitoshi said casually. He hoped it sounded more like teasing and less like making fun of him.
"I wasn't that bad. Plus, I held back a lot on the first day." Midoriya said as he walked back from the kitchen, handing Ochako her water. "I'd been training for moths before that, so it wasn't too bad. I just wasn't used to fighting." Midoriya placed himself back under Hitoshi's arm, leaning back into his shoulder. Hitoshi hummed, putting his arm around Midoriya like it wasn't a big deal. It felt a bit weird, for just a second, but Hitoshi figured it was alright since nobody seemed to mind.
"What about Aizawa, did you like him?" Ochako asked again, shifting to be more comfortable. She was now half on Iida's lap and half on Hitoshi's lap, leaning on his shoulder as she asked the question. Hitoshi didn't mind the PDA. In fact, he lived for it. He just hadn't expected it when he joined class 1-A.
"I really like Aizawa. He's..." Hitoshi paused, feeling embarrassed for himself. He couldn't just not tell them, but he also knew he would get teased. "He's sorta my idol, I guess. I've got a poster of his, a really old one, in my stuff somewhere." Hitoshi admitted quietly.
"Wow, Eraserhead has posters?" Midoriya asked, looking up at him. Hitoshi turned to look at him, to answer his question, but found himself mere inches from Midoriya's face. He didn't allow himself to react to the close proximity.
"Uh, yeah. It's a really old poster, so I don't know if they still sell them." Hitoshi shrugged, shifting Midoriya's head unintentionally. Midoriya was a bit further away, then. It made him feel a bit better, but the moment his shoulder was back in it'd original place Midoriya shifted to become even closer. As Hitoshi turned to the screen again, Midoriya was almost cheek-to-cheek with him.
Ochako unpaused the movie at the perfect time, taking everyone's attention off of their new classmate. Hyper-aware of everything, Hitoshi felt when Todoroki settled back into his thigh, humming a bit.
The movie was mind-numbing fun, but it failed to ever completely grab his attention. Hitoshi found his eyes wandering during the quiet scenes, checking his classmates as they all relaxed together.
Midoriya never detached from his side, sticking as close as physically possible. Kirishima, Kanimari, and Bakugou were all on the couch above him, Bakugou laying over both of their laps. Kirishima's leg was over Hitoshi's shoulder, his heel sometimes rubbing circles in the fabric of Hitoshi's shirt. Ochako fell asleep on his shoulder half-way through the movie and Iida carried her upstairs to her room so she could sleep properly, but he never came back. Todoroki eventually shifted from his thigh to his stomach, his head rising and falling with his breathing. Near the end of the movie, Yaoyorozu took Ochako's place at his side with a polite smile. Yaoyorozu didn't lean as heavily as Ochako did, but she didn't hesitate to sit shoulder-to-shoulder with him. Soon after her, Mina took a spot in Yaoyorozu's lap, leaning against her. Tsu never moved from her place on the opposite side of Midoriya, making quiet chatter with Hagakure and Ojiro. Sero sat alone on one couch the whole time, creating a huge bowl of popcorn and passing it around when asked to.
When the movie finally ended, Hitoshi didn't know what to do. It was obviously sometime past 1 AM, but it was a friday. With no classes in the morning, Hitoshi knew Curfew wasn't in effect. If this was like the general studies dorms, however, a teacher would pass through at about 2 AM to tell everyone to try and get some sleep. None of his classmates moved from their positions, all comfortable or unwilling to move. Shinsou wondered how a teacher would react to seeing the students in what was pretty much a cuddle pile.
"Hey, Shinsou." Todoroki said, looking up at him from his stomach again. "Have you seen many American movies?" Todoroki asked quietly, a small but sly smile on his face.
"No. Why?" Hitoshi said, trying to be as quiet as Todoroki. His voice just came out harsh, but Shouto didn't seem phased. Todoroki looked over and made eye contact with Midoriya. Shinsou looked between the two of them. He didn't like this, but he also didn't want to stop it.
Midoriya jumped off of his side, smiling as he ran out of the room. While Midoriya was gone, Bakugou grumbled about something and left, and Kirishima scooted off of the couch to steal Midoriya's spot. When Midoriya came back and put some unimpressive-looking American movie into the console, Kirishima spoke up.
"Are you putting on The Room again, Midoriya?" Kirshima asked, smiling and putting his arm around Hitoshi's waist. Hitoshi almost - almost- let out a small noise at that, but held himself back. Midoriya nodded, smiling wide, as he grabbed the remote and sat on Kirshima's lap. Midoriya leaned his head onto Hitoshi's chest. He could probably hear the heart attack Hitoshi was holding back.
The second movie, as it turns out, is a pirated version of the original with shoddy Japanese translations across the bottom. Midoriya mentions that he found a properly translated version once, but decided this version was funnier. Shinsou understand a lot of English, but without the translations he knew he'd have a harder time grasping the movie's plot (even though the translations aren't that accurate in the first place). Midoriya burst out laughing at several scenes, his laugh echoing through the dorm. Hitoshi cracked a couple smiles, but he never really laughed. He could feel Todoroki chuckle at the stupid spoon paintings.
By the time that movie ended, nearly everyone had fallen asleep. Todoroki had fallen asleep on his lap and Midoriya wasn't far behind. Kirishima had his head tucked into Hitoshi's neck, eyes unfocused but still aimed at the screen. Yaoyorozu was on his shoulder now, her hair down and her eyes closed peacefully. Yaoyorozu's arms were wrapped around Mina, who was snoring quietly. Denki had also shifted to take Bakugou's former place, sprawled across the couch, and had promptly fallen asleep. Sero left sometime after the second scene, stumbling back to his dorm. Tsu fell asleep across Midoriya's lap after Ojiro and Hagakure left.
This was also the time when Aizawa stumbled into the dorm, carrying a mug of coffee in his hands. Being the most awake of everyone, only Hitoshi seemed to notice him enter. He looked like he had just woken up, so when he stumbled across them Shinsou wasn't surprised to hear him slur his words.
"Have you been awake all night, you brats? You know it's 6 AM, right." Aizawa's voice was hoarse. "You also probably shouldn't sleep on each other. I'd probably get in trouble." Aizawa said, his eyes drooping further.
"It looks like you've not had a very good night either, Aizawa." Shinsou said. "Your bags almost look bigger than mine tonight." Shinsou teased lightly, smirking. Aizawa sighed.
"Just because I like you doesn't mean I'm going to put up with sass, Mr. Shinsou." Aizawa smirked back at him. "Do you want to run 5 extra laps for disrespecting your teacher?" Aizawa crouched down and made eye contact with Shinsou. Shinsou laughed a bit, making Todoroki shift in his sleep.
"I'll have to take a rain check on that. I don't think they'll let me up." Shinsou looked down at Todoroki, using his free hand to pat his classmate's head. Aizawa chuckled quietly, standing back up.
"Just make sure you all get to a bed before monday. If I see one head down in class, you're expelled." Aizawa said as he turned around. Shinsou couldn't contain his smile as Eraserhead walked out of the dorm, seeming to have given up on his morning check.
When Aizawa was gone, Hitoshi curled his fingers into Shouto's hair. As he was doing this, Hitoshi felt Kirishima poke him in the side. Hitoshi turned to him. They were only inches apart, just like how he was with Midoriya earlier, but he sleepy brain didn't seem to care. Hitoshi raised an eyebrow, uring Kirshima to speak.
"Aizawa really likes you, huh?" Kirishima's voice was deep and quiet. Hitoshi was so tired that he couldn't suppress the shiver that ran down his spine.
"Uh, yeah. He was the one who helped me get transferred." Hitoshi said, his words slurred. His eyelids were beginning to close, too, as he looked at Kirishima. Kirishima seemed to notice, but didn't mention it. "Actually... he helped me train a bit, too. He gave me extra classes in the evening. I really... couldn't ask for a better teacher." Hitoshi slurred, leaning back into the couch more.
"That must've been really nice." Kirishima muttered, leaning back with him. Hitoshi let his head rest on Kirishima's as his eyes finally slid closed.
"It was." Hitoshi smiled as he passed out.
