Midoriya had known that Bakugou had only been trying to get a rise out of him when he told him to jump off the roof, but that didn't stop him. It didn't stop him from hitting the pavement with a sickening thud, and it didn't stop him from hurting until it felt like his brain would melt away.
But he had lived.And as he trudged home, carrying the wounds of his suicide attempt, he was ambushed by a villain who meant to kill him and steal his body. He had felt the cold hands of death at his throat while he drowned, no hero coming until it was too late.
And yet he still lived.Midoriya Izuku knew there were only so many things in this world that could be explained with quirks, and none of them even applied to him, a weak quirkless kid.
