Chapter 1: Epilogue; Faces of Tomorrow

Chapter Text

"GYAYAYAYA! YES! THAT'S RIGHT! RUN IN FEAR WEAKLINGS!"

Bellowed a high-pitched voice, shattering whatever sort of peace and quiet the cool Saturday morning provided for the citizens. Panic and distress soon fueled the people of a local park as the one who had shouted began to terrorize the area. The hooligan is a man with a mutation quirk that has his arms covered in green foliage and weeds, which he was using to grow out to ensnare helpless civilians and toss them around or to vandalize and damage the public property, all while doing so with a wide toothy smile and eyes widen with dark joy.

The police had responded quickly to the situation along with a few of the local heroes, setting up a perimeter around the chaos and making sure that any civilian that had fled can get out of the park while keeping the rest out. No need to have good samaritans running out to try to stop this power-crazed lunatic. Despite his untamed and sloppy movements of his vines, he was pretty dangerous and volatile.

"YES! YES! KEEP SCREAMING! GO LOUDER! LOUDER!!!" The plant-quirked villain goaded at the terrified bystanders, his loud and obnoxious voice becoming more and more excited as he watched his vines crushed tress and dangle captives like yo-yos. "FEAR ME! LET ME BE KNOWN! TO BE RECOGNIZED! TO NO LONGER BE A NOBODY IN THE DARK! I WANT TO FACE THIS NEW 'SYMBOL OF PEACE' AND CRUSH HIM BEFORE EVERYBODY!"

"Is he serious?! That's why he's doing this?!" Someone yelled out from the crowd behind the police.

"If he wants Deku, he's going to be sorry!"

"Isn't he like, what, the seventh villain this week? Where are they coming from? And why are they popping up all of a sudden?"

A question shared by many with so many guesses on what the answer could be. Any train of thoughts were interrupted when the sound of explosions echoed throughout the streets as clouds of smoke trailed above the cramped crowd of bystanders. Landing in front of the vine villain stands a menacing figure claded in deep black sleeveless hero costume with grenade like gauntlets adorning his arms. He made a sadistic smile and an intense look behind his black to orange fade bandana.

"Why scream for that has-been when you can lose to the real deal right here, right now..." He challenged, the sweat from his palms sparking up fireworks as he readies to pound the face of this annoying extra, the villain shaking slightly in his boots despite trying to keep to his character.

-----

"Ooooh! Look! It's Kat-sama!!" Exclaimed the excited teen boy to his little sister as he sat in front of the television as Bakugou entered, the local news live and broadcasting the scene of where the action was taking place. The little girl fist-pumping along with her brother as they cheer for the explosive hero while also waiting in bated breath to see their dad show up to help. He is always their role model and aspiration for them to become heroes. So many consider the two lucky, being the son and daughter of the Symbol of Peace.

Midoriya Kouichi, a freckled slim boy of 14 years of age with shaggy and unkempt deep brown hair with the tips dyed green (In admiration for his father) and deep emerald green eyes rocked back and forth rapidly on the floor. His excitement and heavy breathing made him lose slight control over his quirk and spat out brief and tiny gusts of fire in front of the TV. A quirk that was similar to his grandfather's. Usually his mother, Midoriya Ochaka, would ask him to settle down when she sees fits of flame spitting out from her easily excitable son, but she went with her husband to deal with the menace.

"What do you think he will do, Oniisan?" Kumiko asked with excitement equal to her older brother with her high and adorable voice, hugging her stuffed teddy bear. Midoriya Kumiko is 8 years old and was said by her dad that she looks like a cute miniature version of her mother, with brown pigtails, wide brown eyes, a cute round face, and adorable pink cheeks. She has a quirk similar to her mother's and her grandmother's. Whatever she touches she can control to either push or pull away from her, or pull herself to the controlled object. For her, a very useful quirk so to never be seperated with her toy bear, Sir Bearkagou!

"He's probably going to go all out! He's never one to hold anything back for anyone! Oh! Maybe he'll even do his epic AP shot move!" He exclaimed excitedly only to later give a bit of a sigh. "Knowing him, he'll probably one shot that villain before dad and mom will get there..." He shivers a bit, his initial excitement slowly drifting into concern over the villain's well-being to his surprise. "H-He might even send that man out into space..."

"Coooool!!" Kumiko exclaimed with sparkles in her eyes, gaining herself a rather concerned look from her brother before they both returned to the TV, watching the one-sided fight between the explosive hero and the criminal.

-----

The spiky-haired boy munched on his dry cereal as he lounged on the brown sofa dressed in an orange T-shirt with gray pajama pants, watching the breaking story of the vine-armed crook. He drowns out whatever the idiot reporter people were babbling about to validate their meaning in the story and focused on the insane beat-down his old man was dishing out to that loser.

Bakugou Hiro watched his dad fly around the battlefield with great speed with his quirk, easily flinging in fast and hard punches and jabs to the villain's flabby body, even using his own vine arms swing the idiot around and slam him against the trees nearby.

He doesn't care what lame name other people will call him, he will always be King Explosion Murder because that's awesome! A name he's looking forward to taking for himself once he proved his worth, looking down to his sweat-coated palms as he briefly daydreams of his destiny, to his near-identical quirk to literally blast his way into becoming Number One. To overthrow that damn Deku and claim the title that was meant for the Bakugou family. To live up to that name he was given. It was his destiny. He's the only one who can do it... unlike someone else he knows.

Despite the fact, He grins in pride at his goals, only to have it ruined when that fucking annoying voice was shouted over the screen.

"Have no fear, everyone! I AM HERE!"

-----

Upstairs within her grandparents' house, a quiet platinum blonde teenaged girl watched the small television in her room of the incident of the city's park as it interrupted her morning programs. As the field reporter informs the story with their cameraman filming the action, the girl's bright blue eyes watched with mild 'enthusiasm' as she watched the Number One joined in at the battle while the Number Three hero continues to perform an array of brutal and unnecessary series of explosions over the vine man all while yelling and berating the Green Symbol of Hope. People are definitely getting more happy and excited when seeing the cute green-haired hero and the gravity heroine joined the fray

Bakugou Yuzuki, the other of the Bakugou twins. Unlike her brother, she is withdrawn and silent to the point where many of the other kids believe she is emotionless. In addition she is not very close to their father. That is to say, she is not as close compared to her hot-headed counterpart who seeks to surpass and learn from him when he becomes his name given destiny. To become a hero.

Nowadays, she usually spends her days with Katsuki's parents, helping them around the house or cooking them dinner, more for to keep herself away from home than for any benevolent reasons. She and Katsuki had never 'clicked' or gotten close like most parents are with their children. She gives a tired sigh when the battered and beaten villain was filmed on his knees, his boasting screams turned into cries for mercy as he begged the temperamental hero to cease fire, all while Deku and Ochako were trying to keep Katsuki from doing any further harm to the surrendering man.

She wasn't very surprised on how distant they are. Conflicting personalities aside...

...He never took the fact of her being quirkless very well...
