Chapter Text
Although Quirks were a somewhat new development in the evolution of the human race, Soulmarks had been around since before written history. The placement, size, color, and pattern were all fairly unique according to each person. Very few of the population were missing their own, and usually, those that did (odd though it seemed to everyone else) seemed okay with not having a soulmate. So it was probably for the best.
Soulmarks depended on the personality and, interestingly, something like the learning style of the individual. Artistic, visual learners tended to have larger portraits and pictures scrawled over them. Intellectual, auditory types had neat print tucked into a small area, for efficiency’s sake. If the two Soulmates had opposing personality types, their mark occasionally represented their perfect mate rather than themselves. And no one truly understood how marks matched sometimes, only that it became immediately obvious to both Soulmates when they came into visual contact with their partner’s design. Although placement was usually similar, there didn't necessarily need to be anything else matching. Color scheme and images could be totally different, and still you would know it was your Soulmate by just one look. It was yet another thing no one could fully explain, even if Soulmarks had been around since time began.
And you couldn't wait to meet your perfect mate.
