Chapter 1: The Call

Chapter Text

It was 10:30pm, on a Saturday, when Izuku’s mom went on a much needed, last minute, trip to the store. She had asked him if he wanted to tag along, but he politely declined.

Once she left the house, Izuku shut off all of the lights and headed to his room. He threw himself on his bed and let out a long sigh. Almost less than 4 months, and he’d be going into high school.

U.A.

Well, maybe that highschool.

Everything was just a huge, jumbled up mess at the moment.

With a roll of his eyes and a grunt, Izuku pushed himself up to grab a comic book to read to pass the time.

He walked towards his bookshelf and scanned through all of the different comics he had. They all varied throughout heros, but most of them circulated around All Might, of course. After picking his poison, in this case it being a limited edition comic that featured Eraser head, who was arguably the second greatest hero in Izuku’s opinion, he set himself back onto his bed. Once finding a comfortable position, his body relaxed, and he began reading.

-

Izuku had been so infatuated in the comic he didn't notice he had gotten a text from his mom six minutes ago

I'm going to be home a little but later than expected, sweetie. The store didn't have the part I needed for the washing machine, so I'm going to the other department store. I should be home in thirty minutes. Be safe, I love you!

-Mom"

After reading the text, Izuku sent his farewells and his fair share of “I love you too”, he set his phone down to continue reading. He set hinself back into his comfortable position.

Until he heard the front door click.

Izuku blinked in confusion, seeing as his mom said she’d be home in thirty minutes, tops. Anxiously, he slowly opened his door to a crack, and looked out into the hall. His stomach dropped.

He heard big, heavy footsteps.

Not mom. Not mom. Not mom.

With shaking hands, Izuku shut his door as quietly as he ever had done in his life. His mind was spinning.

I locked the door. I double checked.

Izuku went to his bed, and grabbed his phone. He didn't even glance at who he called and was surprised himself when he heard who answered.

“Deku,”

Shit.

He didn't even realize he had been silent until Bakugou spoke up in annoyance, “Deku, what the fuck it's late-”

“K-kacchan, Kacchan, Kacchan,” Izuku quietly sobbed.

“What the hell? What's wrong now?"

“Someone- there's, oh god. There's someone here, Kacchan.” Izuku tried to keep his breathing steady but his throat felt like it was going to close up at any second.

Izuku could hear Bakugou inhale sharply, and the movement of bed sheets, “Where are you?” He demanded.

“M-my room. Mom's not home."

“Okay, fuck,” He could tell Bakugou was slightly panicking.

Before he could finish what he was saying, curses and shattering glass could be heard outside of the room. Izuku let out a hiccup and quickly put his hand over his mouth, shaking.

Deku, I'm going to go downstairs right now, and tell my parents, okay? You need to stay quiet as hell , and hide under your bed.” Bakugou instructed.

All Bakugou got was a shuddering “ mhm ” in response, and that was good enough for him.

Once Izuku made his way under the bed, he tried to focus on the softness of the carpet to try and distract himself, nearly on the verge of a panic attack.

Izuku could hear Bakugou throwing his door open and running down the stairs, while ignoring himself getting yelled at. He could hear the anxiety leaking into Bakugou’s voice as he quickly explained the situation to his parents. Izuku heard his parents speaking, but he couldn't tell what they were saying exactly, both their voices overlapping one another.

“They're both on their way. I'm going too, it should take us at least five minutes to get there, okay?” Bakugou quickly informed Izuku.

“O-okay,” Izuku breathed out.

He listened out for any noise, and was met with a buzzing silence. “I don't think he-”

Izuku felt like he was going to vomit.

A faint hum of the phone let him know that it really did happen.

The call disconnected.

He bit his lip and tears started pouring from his eyes. He took his phone away from his ear and was going to call Bakugou back, until his phone began to ring, causing His heart rate to quicken even more.

“Deku? Hey, Deku?

Izuku let out a small sigh, “I-I’m okay, the call just disconnected.”

“Thank fuck.” Bakugou exhaled, relieved it was nothing else.

“I think they're leaving, I don't hear them anymore.” Relief filling up Izuku's lungs.

“Fucking stay put until we get there.”

Izuku was going to respond until he heard footsteps.

“Oh-  oh my god. ” He whimpered.

What?!”

“I,” Izuku swallowed. “I think they heard the phone ring.”

Bakugou’s stomach felt like it got a thousand bricks thrown at it.

“Don't fucking move, Deku. FUCK, Mom, drive faster. I don't care if we get chased by the fucking cops!” Bakugou shouted anxiously, earning a "I'm fucking trying" in response.

“Deku, you need to stay quiet, you hear me?” Bakugou spoke softly.

Mmmh. ” Izuku replied with his mouth over his hand trying to silence his rapid breathing and sobs.

As the heavy footsteps drew closer and closer to Izuku’s room, his heart felt like it was going to rip out of his chest. He couldn't breathe, and desperately wanted to cry.

As Izuku remained deathly silent, Bakugou was telling him that they should be there in less than two minutes.

Until the steps stopped.

And his door slowly opened with a spine chilling creak.

All Izuku could hear were Bakugou’s parents frantically speaking in the background while Bakugou was cursing under his breath, panicked.

All Bakugou could hear was Izuku’s nearly silent breathing.

Until he couldn't.

Suddenly, Izuku’s feet were grabbed by two large hands and he was dragged out from under the bed.

He frantically kicked out trying to get the man away from him, but was met with a strong punch to his face. He screamed for his life, letting out a string of “ PLEASE. PLEASE. STOP.” and “GET OFF.”

The phone was in the death grip of Izuku’s hands. He could hear Bakugou yelling and cursing so loudly, it sounded like he were on speaker.

Izuku was crying out pleas to be let go and heart wrenching sobs that made Bakugou bite his lips and tear up. Hit after hit on Izuku's abdomen leaving him almost breathless. Bakugou begged his mom to give how much longer.

They had a minute left.

Izuku struggled with the man, hoping that he'd be able to win, somehow. Pushing the man’s shoulders away, he quickly ticked his right leg up to his chest, and kicked at the man, sending him crashing into his dresser, letting out a pained grunt. Picture frames crashing down shattering, books littering the floor.

Phone, still in his hand, Izuku stumbled up, and hastily limped towards his door, but was grabbed by his hair and thrown back o to the floor.

Please, don't hurt me! PLEASE.” Izuku sobbed, his voice cracking as he begged for his life.

The man ripped the phone of his hand, and threateningly put one hand over Izuku’s throat, and lightly squeezed sending the message.

The loud curses that were projected from the phone, now stopped as Izuku’s voice had suddenly cut to a halt.

The man put the phone up to his ear, deep, heavy pants heard on Bakugou’s end, causing his spine to freeze.

“Listen here, you fuck. ” Bakugou spat. “We're going to be over there in mere seconds. You better not do something you're going to fucking regret.”

Bakugou waited for what seemed for hours for a reply, the man’s disgustingly heavy breathing was right in his ear.

But the man spoke four simple words, and Bakugou felt his world crashing down.

“It's already been done.”

The last thing he heard was Izuku’s blood curdling screams, just before the call cut off.

Times up.
